Most write either in 1st point of view or 3rd point of view.

Writing prompt: Write a story more than a few paragraphs long, completely in the second point of view, one that is not a CYOA type of story.

As you see the light growing in front of you, your eyes close completely as you cry from the pain.

And thus, you are born.

A pain to write, 100% self insert. Hate it

The first thing you heard after being born is a scathing criticism about tense shifting.

"You're the only person using present tense. The rest of us are using past tense."

There is a certain irony that the one who was criticizing you was also using the present tense, but you decided not to point it out.

True. I tried to write that once since 2nd point of view is not as popular like 1st or 3rd point of view. Gave up like 5 small posts in. Probably will just switch it to a CYOA cause its better.

There was a lifeless corpse bestowed in front of you on the cobblestone floor. It suddenly twitched its twisted neck, thin lanky fingers, and dislocated limbs. The corpse's spastic motion grew more chaotic and frantic as you stood there, frozen in fear.

How's that?

[Jokes on you, I've practiced writing in 2nd person before, though its in a mix of tenses. Here it was.]

The stark night sky failed to detract you. The glimmer of the moon’s light appeared enough to illuminate the forest clearing or, at the very least, what little of it you could see.

You looked up.

The thing was more than two heads taller, a green-skinned creature that mimicked a human. Horns upon a bald head and a body packed full of muscle. It was beefy, massive, but far from the first time you fought a towering opponent. As it turned towards you, a hand wielding a greatsword possibly the length of your body, you readied your dagger.

“Come,” There’s a smirk above your bleeding lips, your stomach rumbles and those thin arms of yours paled in comparison to the creature’s. But, above all, you don’t care—a beast in hunger did anything for blood, after all.

It came suddenly with speed far too great for its massive body, swinging its weapon from high above and releasing a roar.

Your hand twirled along with the dagger, you leapt from your squat, your blade scraping by another. Dodging a scratch to your face, bare feet slid against the forest floor, the moisture of the grass peeved you, itching your skin, but your crimson eyes focused.

You came upon its back, the beast in the midst of turning, and jumped. A roar followed a stab into its neck. You kick off, slicing a chunk of meat before throwing your dagger into its skull.

A thud hit the earth, crippling it to its knees as your feet shattered its ankle.

“<Lightning Drive>.”

Your hands spark with electricity, dancing and crackling, and you waste no time impaling the creature. Soon, its dying breath came, and you allowed its fall.

“There we go,” Those words came as quickly as the thought of killing another living being left you.

You’ve been counting.

Twenty days has passed since you arrived as a vampire within this dungeon. You’re certain you’re getting the hang of things, but an end is not in your sights. There was yet a fucking escape from this place.

Oh well.

The thought of your endless motions within this endless forest left and your fangs grow. Biting into the neck of the corpse before you, you decide the taste of blood was better than death.

The changes to your body came immediately, however. Your mass noticeably enlarged, and you watch with interest as your thin arms beefed to toned biceps. Even more so, as you stared, you became certain you had grown a head taller within the span of a few seconds. The rough patch of clothing couldn’t contain you any longer, but you choose not to strip. It’s better to be uncomfortable than to fully become a beast.

You are looking at the future.

It's vast, it's magnificent, it's so beautiful that any other person would not be able to help but she'd a tear.... But they're not you.

What you see, is that it doesn't have you in it. Not a shadow, not a trace, as if you never even were there in the first place.

You've worked so hard.... You've worked your fingers to the bone day and night, working towards it, dreaming of the day it happened - and now all you feel is the acrid taste of resentment.

The void in your soul devours you, it swallow you with nary a bone left, leaving you a helpless, vulnerable and empty husk what what once was something more. And amidst the blood-curling screaming that come from your own body, you hear a whisper, so soft that it's barely audible.

The voice whispers words that seep under your skin like a sweet poison, making you feel itchy all over and mesmerised, bewitched and, before you know it, you stop hearing the screams and only the whispers fill your mind.

They tempt you, they guide you into an abyss so dark that no sane and sober man would ever think of delving into. But you're not sober, and neither are you sane.

Darkness. Before your eyes lay impenetrable darkness. You struggle with it, trying to escape to the light that is behind it. Freedom waits ahead.

Your eyes are now open. Inspecting the surroundings, you could not understand where you are. The outlines of the walls, windows, and apartment buildings on the street are filled with black and dark blue.

The streets are empty. Yes, they are completely empty. There are no people, no cars, no birds that like to chirp in the morning, and even wild animals that are always in search of food for their survival. It's as if you fall into an alternate reality where all manner of lifeforms doesn't exist. You decided to find out what time it is. But when you look at the watch in your hands, you find out that the hands are standing still.

Is this place real? Or is everything just a dream? You do not know for sure, but it's impossible to find the answer to these questions. You are alone, no matter how creepy it sounds.

And suddenly they appeared...

Dark silhouettes, which chaotically moved from side to side blinked into existence. With each second, there are more and more of them. In a fit of panic, you decided to run forward, but there are already so many of them that it's impossible to distinguish each of them separately until it merged into a dark and impenetrable fog, which begins to envelop your body. Fear lurks in your heart, and you don't know what's exactly happening.

You can feel them touching you. Some of them are getting into your body. The darkness suddenly begins to appear in your eyes and eventually, you stopped thinking.
