Will any of you write professionally in the future? I treat writing as a hobby that can be used for money in the future while I'm working towards my degrees. I think of this site as a place to practice my writing and to get in the hobby of updating and being more consistent in stuff I want to do, all while hoping the habit spreads to other parts of my life. Though I have no idea if people even really like my writing that much lol.

Ideally, yeah, sure. My dream is to make a living out of writing.

If it flops, I'll go for something else, but that's my current goal.

... Now if only I could write regularly after meeting my daily quota at my current job... >.>

Yes. Already discussed with a site about writing for money. Unfortunately, Ai-chan needs to finish a new book first before Ai-chan can make use of that negotiation.

And no, it's not webnovel, cloud something or whatever else would contact you out of the blue offering a contract. It's a proper company that Ai-chan had to send the early manuscript to and ask if they'd be interested.

Wait, Webnovel contacts you just like that? I thought when you reach a certain type of popularity, they would contact you.

No. Not unless I stumble over a lucky success story.
Going for a writing career is too depressing if I want to keep my living standards...

Best case scenario, it might become a nice side-job that brings in some money from time to time.
But that's it...

we're trying to make a go of it already, through patreon. we're not that interested in traditional publishing, prefer the freedom of what we're doing right now.

Webnovel itself doesn't usually contact you until you've reached a certain popularity point as far as I know but there are plenty of publishers whether they be real or fake that will harass you a ton. At least, they harassed me a lot. It's one of the reasons I left webnovel. I was incredibly tired of all the scam publishers bothering me.

For sure. I would like to be pro author and publish at least one book in my life time. Gotta start small, am I right?

Though, writing online has it's own perks.

My writing isn't the best yet so yeah, I'll have work hard. Same goes with my stories.

That's basically my plan. The whole reason I'm doing webnovel stuff is so I can get my name out there. I also plan on doing some short story stuff in the future. On this site, I'm writing a dramatic bait and switch story, whereas when I release my first novel, it will be portal fantasy(isekai for the weebs out there) with a lot better prose and obvious signs of better planning.

Well, I hope I could but as of right now such thoughts are nothing but dreams that in the future may show themselves unreachable.

I have no plans to use writing as my passive income. Then again, I have no plans for anything as my passive income. I am in my thirties and this is really poor financial planning.

I honestly prefer reading more than writing, so I won't ever be writing professionally. The only reason I've been writing novels in the first place is because I ran out of books to read and also after I read some bad webnovels where I hated how some plot stories goes/ended and so I decided to write out what I preferred to read about instead. I have a really bad habit of procrastination, so most of my novels never gets completed. I used to post my stories at Textnovel.com but then stopped after the site went dead. After that, I've never posted any of my stories online every again.
