Dear authors and curious passerby!

I want to know what kind of art you commissioned in the past or would consider commission.

By what kind of art I mean whether it was/is full-body, half-body, portrait, colored, sketched, simple character (concept) art or full-rendered illustration usable as a cover.

(Also state how much you’d be willing to spend for your request :blob_cookie:)

I usually just commission full body character sketches (color is optional) or concept art so that I have an extra place of reference the next time I describe them. My budget is usually $20-$120 per sketch but that depends on the art and artist.

Of course, cute girls and thighs. Thighs are important, yes. NSFW too.
On a serious note, all my original novels' cover are commissioned and full-body full rendered illustration most of the time

I usually commission affordable art. And like before, I can afford to pay 0 dollars right now.
I’m always free for stickmen :blob_cookie:

And what would you commission if you had money?

I already spent my art budget on a drawing tablet I barely use, so no art for me unless I learn to draw well.

I don't do commissions, because I'm still a relatively new author maybe after my work gets some recognition then I will look into commissions.
How much does a full body shot of a character cost though ? If too expensive then I will have to squeeze my brain juice to create something decent.

Thanks, but I do want to commission art. I'm willing to pay up to 250$, but I obviously need to earn it first. Then I will have to find a suitable artist as I'm picky. I want either art that resembles Korean manhwas\webtoons\pornhwas or art style from comics. Also, I don't need a full-rendered illustration usable as a cover because my friend can edit the art in PS. So everything before that level is okay.

Short answer to your questions. I'm willing to pay 250$ for a full-body, colored(or black and white) character art.

It's an answer to tiaf's question. Also state how much you’d be willing to spend for your request.

I'm willing to pay 250$ if I have such money. It's the upper limit that my greed and judgment established. It doesn't mean there is no art that will cost less.

I would love that as well 👏 but if it’s that much than I would have to wait to become an adult or have the chance to buy if it’s lower than $100 as I’m more worried about going to college next year right now.

Indonesian's artist is quite cheap to local, only around 10-30$ each art. Commercial use double the price :sweating_profusely:
I ordered this one for 13$ and the artist said I can use it as a cover as long as I credit her. Cheap, but good quality. Ah, only the character and the throne, I edit it myself

I did art trades of ocs over half a decade ago. I did it with people who were often much better than me, so I consider it more free art than an art trade. I’ve posted it in this forums before, it’d probably be quicker for you to find it than me to find it on my hard drive.

Who's the artist? And where did you find them?

Oh, I thought typical arts of a full-body shot cost that much. If it were me am only willing to pay upward of 50$ higher then that is a nono.

I really like your The Isekai Police cover. Did you photoshop it or was it fully art?

I wouldn’t do full-body completely rendered under 200€. I live in Germany and living costs and living standard is similar to England/America.

But I also tend to go into detail like Korean/Chinese artists do, so it does take more time than cute anime girl with big boobie. It also depends on where the artist lives.

Indo and Filipino can have very cheap prices because the currency exchange and low local living costs balance the difference.

For anime art with simple rendering, sure, you can find such artists. For Korean Webnovel style, not in a lifetime.

I have been working as an artist for years but only commissioned a couple of times to some artist friends. Most of my free time I'm drawing the characters of my novel and working on commissions, which is my current job.
