Somewhere in the Backstreets of Scribel City
A hooded figure was dashed throught the backstreets of the City, occasionally stopping to poke, prod and stab some slimes, leaving a goopy trail behind him.
Syn's perspective
The first slime I killed seemed to have dropped a
fragment of its core. I wonder what it does? Well, I kept it anyways, as with the other cores from the other slimes I killed along the backstreets.
Somewhere along the way, news about some kind of slime leader, rocky slimes and a big purple slime reached me. Hmm... they could prove to be valuable sources of experience should I find them.
As I proceeded along the streets, I encountered a differently coloured slime, a brown-ish slime bashing down a door.
*Lurk passive skill is in play*
This slime seemed tougher than its brethren. However, it seems to lack the intelligence of a leader. So, a rock slime it must be. Thanks to my skill and its rather poor perception. It seems not to have noticed me. Siowly, I crept forward and attempted to stab it.
Sadly, while its toughness seemed average, I missed my stab. As I pulled my blade back and readied to stab again, the slime seemed to freeze up, literally, and solidify. Looking at that rock-hard surface, I highly doubt my ability to pierce through it. So it comes as no surprise when my second strike skitteeed harmlessly off the slime's surface. Thankfully, it seemed to be incapable of retaliation when it solid form. On the other hand, I could not attack it either.
And so, hunter and prey stared at each other for a good minute or so.
Then, the slime appeared to start melting and returning to its liquid form in order to approach me. Sensing my opportunity, I lunged forward and pierced straight through its core.
Again, it dropped a
core fragment, a brown one this time.
And so, I continued my hunt for more slimes. Good thing we had no short supply of slimes.
A few rock slimes and a lot of regular slimes later, I noticed a pocket sized grey slime squeezing its way out of a drain cover. And realisation dawned on me like a clap of thunder.
Ahh... those little critters bypassed the defences by crawling through the swer tunnels! Well, the tunnels would certainly contain even more prey, and few would bother going down there anyway. It would make a great levelling ground. If only it did not stink as much.
And so, I located the nearest sewer entrance and entered it. It seems as though some adventurers or perhaps even civilians may have entered the sewers, perhaps with the same idea as me?
Scribel City Sewers
I was right. There were slimes, everywhere. And i mean everywhere. Up in the ceiling, along the walls in the sewerage canal and along the walkways. A group of twenty or so of them seem to be digesting something... or someone. Must have been an unfortunate civilian who sought shelter here. These slimes are dangerous, but only if they catch someone off guard and swarm them. As long as I stay on my toes, these slimes pose no real threat.
As I proceeded onwards, there was a slime, a small blue one, that I tried to sneak up to. But when I attempted to stab it, it flared up almost like it was surprised and started bouncing away. When I attempted to catch it though, a whole bunch of other slimes quickly approached and made a wall of slimes. I must admit, it was a funny sight, but it was nevertheless an effective obstacle that stopped me from catching that blue slime. Still, the slimes in that wall were not moving and free experience is free experience after all.
*stab* *stab* *poke* *poke*
*more poking and prodding noises*
After stabbing every slime in that slime wall, I continued to pursue that strange blue slime. By that time, I had put two and rwo together and realised that that slime was probably one of the rumored slime leaders. When I next saw that slime leader, it was busy directing more slimes through a lsuice gate into the sewers. I made sure to not alarm it, and then proceeded to get rid of the other slimes surrounding it - quietly. My
Lurk passive made this somewhat easier. Soon, most of the slimes had either been killed off by me of had disappeared down the sewer tunnel and the leader was left alone. Now was the time to strike. I would have to kill it fast before reinforcing slimes arrive. I also expect the leader to be tougher than a normal slime. A skill might be needed.
Twin Coil - Modified: Single blade rapid strike
My blade flashed forwards and struck home before the slime could react, pinning it to the wall. Its core, as expected, was tougher than usual. It would take a few seconds to pierce through, but that would not be enough for its minions to arrive to save it.
I collected the blue core fragment and moved off before the other slimes could arrive.
Some time later
It seemed that me having killed the leader made the other slimes in the sewer wander aimlessly, and gather in smaller groups, making them easy targets.

@GM: Some more rock slimes have been taken out.
Syn can be found in the sewers.
Also, the
hidden leader slime leading the assault from the sewers has been taken out, making the slimes in the sewers wander aimlessly and not gather in large swarms. This makes them easier to kill and also reduces the frequency of slimes emerging from the sewers.
