I have no idea what candies people eat other than in the countries I lived in, so...

Educate me please? With pictures ^^. Since we're writers, it might come useful for our stories one day!

This here is from my home country. Somehow, they're all chocolates on this pic...

Most famous ones are called "Little Red Riding Hood", "Clumsy Bear", "Moscow Girl", "Little Squirrel", "Fairy", "Stormbringer", and "Little Cow". And there's also one called 'Bird's Milk" and one "Geisha" for some reason...

I would love to talk about candies from my country, except you've already threw them in here.

Irn Bru - A fizzy drink with a distinctive orange colour and a kind of indescribable and sharp (but nice) taste.

Clootie Dumpling - One of the most delicious foods on Earth. According to this article I'm reading, it's generally made from sultanas and currants, breadcrumbs, flour, sugar, spice, milk, and sometimes golden syrup. You mix it all into a dough, tie it up in flour-covered cloth, boil it, and then dry it in an oven.

Tablet - Condensed milk, butter and sugar. It's crumbly and super sweet.

Shortbread - A sweet, kind of fluffy biscuit.

Tunnock's Tea Cakes - The most amazing sweet in the whole of Scotland. It's a soft biscuit base with a huge dome of fondant on top, covered in milk chocolate. People are divided based on how they take care of the wrapper: you either scrunch it up in a perfect tight ball, or you flatten it out like Christmas paper you plan to reuse.

Pretty basic. But the coconut, guava, and sesame candies are more a product of where I am now.

Well I haven’t had these in a while cause I live in a different country now but these are candies I remember enjoying. Most of these are super sweet tho

palito de coco (coconut sticks)- they don’t really taste like coconut, they’re mostly just sweet. Kind of have a chalk like texture.

Pilón (lollipop)-
These are apparently prominent in other countries too so it’s not just my country’s but I would eat these often. They’re just like lollipops but with unique flavors I guess, i honestly cant describe what fruit or they taste like in general but they’re good. The ones in the picture are cinnamon flavor.

Mints- uh these are just mints but like I would eat these by like the hundred, they’re so small but just 1000000/10. If these were easily accessible to me I don’t think I would ever eat anything else.

Canquiña- I honestly don’t know what this is or what it’s made of i just know it’s good. It sold by street vendors outside big cities so you rarely find any that aren’t melted so they’re STICKY. Like super sticky. The outside is usually soft and sticky like caramel but the inside is sort of hard. The taste is sort of like caramel but a little different.

There’s also dulce de leche- which comes in like 4 different forms, there’s the type that you might see in cakes in America, there’s a more liquify version that can sometimes have coconut. There’s a sort of crumbly version with curdled milk (it’s good I promise) and there’s a hardened version. ( I would put pictures but I still have one more thing to talk about)

Habichuelas con dulce (sort of translates to candied beans)- People make it whenever they want but people who know how to make it pretty much always make it around Easter. You drink it in a cup with milk cookies and it’s sort of hard to explain the taste. It doesn’t taste very much like beans, it’s just sweet and honestly really good.

I feel that my kidneys are giving way while I scroll down this thread. Best part is that I think I ate most of the listed candies above.

Then I recalled my childhood nightmare of eating insect candies from Thailand, because my uncle thought it is fun to have a child eat candied grasshopper.

There are so many, so many sweets and candies in India. If we decide we eat only one type at a time, then it can go on for many years with non-branded local-sweets when each state has its own list of sweets.
In the case of candies, nearly every fruit is turned into one, and mostly branded candies also follow in mimicking these fruit or flavours.
It's just that Sweets have special importance for Indias as it is enjoyed by young and olds alike here, and every good occlusion is incomplete without it.
But these are mostly dominated by non-branded local shops business.
