the synopsis is a simplified generalisation of the focus of your story. It's a chance to tell your reader what to expect in a way that you consider appealing. No matter how you write it, you will never appeal to everyone. There are also many now who just look at the tags and ignore the synopsis...

Nice to see some fresh takes for this prompt appear. I still think the concept is good and worth a try but it's been so long since I wrote anything similar to this that I would cringe from 8th grade flashbacks mid-sentence XD

As simple said, the biggest issue with taking over another's story is the dissonance between writing styles and character portrayal/perceptions. what you see in a character may not be what another see's in a character and so it's very easy to be dissatisfied and complain further down the line...

whenever you find time to sit in front of a keyboard. take your notes at all times of day in a writing journal and then type it up whenever you find a few minutes spare. even if it's on your phone in an email to yourself for later perusal.

a good story is made by the plot and how well you tailor its presentation to the intended audience. good grammar and structure is necessary for uninterrupted reading flow, but by no means does having an amazing vocab lead to an amazing story. I obsess over grammar because I don't enjoy seeing...

hmm. it rarely occurs and works even less so. but I suppose whenever something makes the world collapse from under my feet. nothing quite like finding a new place to live when your mother gives you a week before she kicks you out of the house. same for getting and keeping a job >.>

bingo, not a fan of the romance genre for similar-ish reasons. I prefer stories with plot and content that contain romance, as compared to a story where the plot and content is solely the romance itself.

harem, smut, dense characters, naive protag, yaoi (common enough xD) I dislike harem because its "fictional harem" that has no relation to what a harem is in reality and the complexities of maintaining one.
