we do our patreon advance chapters by time instead of # chapters. we promise patrons they'll get chapters at least a week early but in practice they get things 2 weeks ahead of the public. so we posted a chapter this morning on patreon, that will be posted on scribblehub in 2 weeks. and the...
yeah we don't just like post stories as a bland report, we turn them into prose. but they start as scenes that play out in our head while we just observe & document the action.
we're trying to make a go of it already, through patreon. we're not that interested in traditional publishing, prefer the freedom of what we're doing right now.
lol this made me go & add up all my chapters over the past 18 months. i started posting more or less daily on 2020/09/15 with my A Date With Faet book. if my math's right, it's been 550 days since then & i've got 638 chapters posted in that time. idk about high-quality but my readers & patrons...
ah good point. i didnt think about cases where 1 story could have multiple prequels or sequels.
idk the best way to implement it, mainly i just hope for something on the last chapter to indicate to readers theres 'more', like without them having to go digging for it?
i can add my own links in...
When you're on the final chapter of a completed story, if there's a 'Related story: sequel' set up for that story it would be really really cool if the [Next] button would take you to that sequel's first chapter (or at least the details page of the sequel story), instead of just being greyed...
Probably 6 to 12 times?
I write way in advance of posting. When I finish a chapter I go back and reread it as soon as its done. then i reread chapters as i continue writing.
then when it's finished, i read the whole thing start to finish 2 or 3 times to try catching any continuity errors &...
i'm bad at math but i think my # complete is somewhere between 12 and 20 depending how you count em. i have 12 'series' on here (2 are 'ongoing' but they're already written to completion) but the faet series is actually 3 separate complete books. and 2 of the 4 'wellandverse' series were written...
When you're in the story editor on the glossary tab, in the 'create glossary item' section (or editing an existing one) next to the word category there is a downpointing arrow. click that and you'll get a popup list, including the option to Add a new category item.
JayDirex - yeah agreed!
when i dont have the spark i don't give up. it just gets a whole lot harder. i try brainstorming. i look in my ideas folder (any story idea gets written out then saved in there, sometimes they turn into finished novels later). i look at stuff i've already written. or if...
