Doesn't seem bad. Since you're trying to say that your character ain't a cheat, how about adding a rival who is a cheat? In that way, we can compare and see the difference in growth between the two. This is just some random thoughts, don't mind if you have something more concrete in mind.

Just the power to know all that there is. In that way, you could create anything to do everything, and if not possible with current technology, you would know how to create the technology that can.

Not to diss any young authors, but I would say that they need at least middle school level vocabulary and understanding to write a decent story, so 15+.
