Ah, my story is a bit like that.
You can always write the next arc first and work backwards for the introduction arc.
Then again, you could always show a short snippet of the drama, then immediately switch to the introduction arc.

I think this has been wrapped up already since I saw this late but I usually just do "..." then someone suddenly talks if the the silence is over
To lengthen the silence its usually like this for me.
"..." The room was blah blah chu chu pink yellow BLUE~
(I usually use this technique of distracting readers to what was within the space or extra thoughts.)
