Several YouTuber's have made videos explaining about what COPPA is and what YT are going to do about it.
It follows YT getting sued by the FTC for breaking the COPPA law and getting fined $170 million this year.
ah let the Americans be. They are giving fines for the strangest reasons and Youtube can bribe them anyway. Less dramatic than it sounds and this is not the apocalypse.
Mm...it affects every content creator on YT, where if the FTC deems your video as targeted for kids, you can be fined up to $42000 per video.
To quote the president of the FTC:
"It's like shooting fish in a barrel; YouTube is the barrel, and the content creators are the fish."
