There's a group of bees that keep on trying to colonize the wooden siding of our house. The space isn't big enough for them and some end up dying inside the house. When winter comes they have to leave. Every few years they try again only for the same results. There's a lot of flower bushes in our yard that they love so maybe that's why they keep trying. Maybe it's an outpost that they use, do bees do that?

Bees have been known to make waypoint hives which allow for the bees to rest when they are too far from the original hive. There's also the colonizer aspect that allows for newly spawned Queen bees to create a new hive upon finding a spot for it.
