But basically, the comments on SH Con is that Trending is crap (eh, have to admit, not even the veterans know exactly how it works), poor reader group with lack of comments/ interaction, GL smut being a major WTF.

Well they are now attacking Tony for being lazy and not maintaining SH. Which I totally disagree. SH is doing fine on the matter of maintenance

Imo both sites serve the same purpose; letting people posting their written works online like those with art ie DeviantArt and Pixiv.
The only thing that RoyalRoad and its users is doing is trying to sell their site as a legit publishment company of sorts.
