Aren't bloomers pretty much like western swim suit without the belly part? Maybe that's why.

I'd say it has the same appeal as sportswear on fit people. It accentuates their bodies and looks "hot" with the skin coverage ratio. And it's kind of tight so all the lines are sharp and visible.

Well it all boils down to it's just fiction. Does irl sportswear look anything remarkable? I don't think it is for most people
