Generally, how long is a volume? Diff between volume vs book?

Looking advice for the above. If a series ends up in 3 different sections each with ~100k words, are those 3 books? Or are they 3 volumes of one larger book? Can someone explain to me? Thanks!

Feedback for A Tale From Azad

On mobile so a bit harder to leave better feedback, also only read 0 because I'm about to leave. 1) something I've been told about was that I used a lot of ellipses, and then was advised to use em dashes in place of some of those and the commas. It can add better emphasis and cleans the chapter...

    Feedback is What I Seek

While those words do work, some people may not understand it, and in those situations I would say: are you writing something your audience should understand? Scribbler mentions that it is a shounen, the main audience of shounen (I assume, not always the best thing to do) is generally a younger...

    Open-source Software for Writing

These are good to know, thanks. I personally only use Google Docs. Though, if I do another novel in the future, I will most likely use a program to actually plan out my story, so that I don't cause my self to get lost in the sauce.

    Story feedback

I don't really see a problem with the prologue length - mine is atrociously short, but does what it needs by leading into the story... or so I hope. One thing I see from the start, is using "2". It's probably just a pet peeve but in general numbers below 10 should be spelled out. Of course that...

    Webnovel Covers I Made

Man these are amazing. I hope eventually I can commission a cover nearly as sweet as these for my novel, rather than using a my half-assed canva one. Super great job!

    Prologue Length

Thanks so much for more insight. I guess I will keep my prologue the same length as it is and does a lot of what everyone is mentioning. <3

    Feedback on re-written prologue.

I like it. I feel it sets a great premise of his achievements, and has his highs and lows in it. I did notice that grammar/punctuation fell off after the asterisks. So it will need some editing.

    Prologue Length

Hi guys! So, my prologue for my story is pretty short, but all the chapters after are generally between 1.5k - 2k words. Question: Can a short prologue portray future chapters as being short and throw readers off of wanting to read it? I see on the stats that some people come in and just leave...

    Constructive Criticism please :D

I still would appreciate any other feedback if anyone has any! Particularly concerning dialogue between people as more of that as come up in my latest chapters. I always feel like dialogue is difficult!

    Feedback/Reviews

Hi Rudexvirus, just something I have noticed from reading the first chapter. I feel like the usage of asterisks to denote an emphasis, especially while in a quote, seems clunky. For example, “You know that Earth’s rocket ships actually crash land *every single time* they come back into their own...
