Have anyone started their own fandom page and server for their own Web Novel

Yeah, I have. fandom because i release chapters infrequently so people can go there and easily figure out what's what. discord for a similar reason, to let people know my progress on the next chapter.

For some reason my readers aren't getting notification for my chapters. Can someone help me out?

Yep. If you want your readers to get chapter notifications, you have to get them to follow you and then post on your profile every time you release a chap. They'll get a notification for your profile post. I think.

    New Statistics Page for Authors

Nice. This lets me understand why there are so many people from germany in my discord server. They're my 2nd largest source of views???

Do you ever feel bored toward this world?

Yes, I have felt like this before. To the extent that I would look through dozens of games I enjoyed and not feel like playing them, shelves of books I liked and not feel like reading them. Even food was tasteless. I had no hope for the future, both personally and as a member of the human...

    Writing Split Chapters or No?

I think that anything that goes much over the 5k mark should be split up. One novel I read has chapters that can reach up to 7k+, and with that one I legitimately notice myself thinking, 'am I nearly at the end yet?' As for myself, I generally aim for 3.5k and overshoot to somewhere around the...

Looking for help! Which cover looks the best?

I would say it depends on the novel (I haven't looked at the synopsis or anything). 1st gives me a fantasy vibe, or maybe a story about an artist. 2nd more psychological, maybe some sort of dark detective novel. the third makes me think more sci-fi. The fourth, a bit of fantasy again, adventure...

    What does LitRPG mean?

Generally it means that it's set in a world that has rpg-esque elements. That could be stats, skills, titles, classes, or anything like that.

How Many Words Do You Guys Average Per Chapter

3.5k-4k generally. Anything shorter than that and it just feels to me like nothing really happens in the chapter. As for how long it takes... :sweating_profusely: :sweating_profusely: :sweating_profusely: Time spent actually writing? Doubt it'd be more than 10 hours total. Not sure exactly...

... How does one add that blue/ red/ whatever table again?

well, for me it is just a table in my story word doc. On RRL i think the default colour for tables is that blue, but on SH there's no default colour for tables. table properties I use in SH editor to get a similar effect: border:1,border style:solid, border color: #000000 (black), background...

I was invited. But I don't know if it's legit.

I can't help you with stuff relating to your novel's genre, as I've never really written anything in that sort of genre, but I can give you some general writing advice and things you could improve. Keep in mind that I'm not exactly an expert, so take everything with a grain of salt. Tenses are...

I was invited. But I don't know if it's legit.

You joined this site yesterday, and your novel has been up for about 20 hours. It has two chapters (one of which is the prologue and is very short), very few views, and no reviews. While it's too early to speak about plot, your paragraphs are big enough that I lose interest in what they're...

Authors: What was your reaction to your first 1 star rating?

I don't pay much attention to my ratings. It's just a number that can be easily influenced either way by a single person, if they're willing to put the time and effort into it. It's only good as a rough gauge of quality. Some types of stories even get bunches of 5 star ratings, regardless of the...

For words like realise/realize, which spelling is preferred?

doesn't matter, just keep it consistent whichever you use.

    How to add tags

As far as I'm aware, SH is open to any type of story, so long as it doesn't breach terms of service. As has been mentioned, scribblehub is kind of a child of novelupdates, which mostly caters to japanese/chinese/korean novels, so most of the tags and stories are of similar themes to those, but...

Writing What is the biggest mistake a novice writer makes while writing a story?

The amount of times i've done things like this is too damn high. Most recently, it was the habitat and behaviours of bison, as well as techniques and strategies traditionally used to hunt them. At one point I was trying to find out what the aerodynamics of a fork are, which sounds incredibly...

The most plot formula to avoid in writing a good story

Well, it turns out every good mystery story have terrible plot then, because the best of them you can figure out what's going to happen if you're smart enough and pay enough attention. There's a balance to be had. If the reader can guess what's going to happen all the time, then it's probably...

    What is your Writing Obsession?

IDK, putting in references/foreshadowing to things I plan later in the story and then half of the time forgetting that I made the references? Either that or dragons, which'll sound weird because there's no dragons in either of my novels. Yet. But honestly, I don't know a single one of my novels...

    Writing numbers.

I think in general smaller/shorter numbers should be written out, while larger/longer numbers should just be numbers. What I mean for shorter is, for example, one hundred, or two hundred. Not too long. One hundred and twenty-two, despite being a smaller number than two hundred, is a lot longer...

Editing How do you know when to stop editing?

never and immediately, for me. When i'm writing a chapter, i'll edit as I go, maybe give it a quick look over when I finish it, but not much more than that. Still, every time I go back and look at old chapters, I find things that I want to fix, even if I've already gone and edited it twice...
