Has anyone worked with IGG inc.?

I would consider any company soliciting authors to be a red flag, it's a very common sign of a scam in the book publishing industry. If this really is IGG then maybe they found you through work you've done for other companies/projects, or found your resume if you have one for freelance writing...

    Character Flaws

imo character traits are neutral and capable of manifesting in both positive ways (strengths) and negative ways (flaws). For example one of my characters is passionate and enthusiastic, but because of that he's also pushy. A character's heroism can make them rash, a character's loyalty can make...

How much is a healthy word count?

Depends on you. If you're able to write 6k words each day 1) without burning out, 2) without it getting in the way of other important parts of your life, and 3) while being able to eat/sleep/etc on top of everything else, then I think it's fine if that what you want to do. When I'm in the...

What Made You Start Writing, And I Guess Get Into Books

I used to make little storybooks as a kid. Like "pieces of notepad paper stapled together with shit drawings of dragons drawn on them, and every word was misspelled because I was in 1st grade." As I got older I'd write stories for English class and dabbled in fanfiction; I had dreams of creating...

Are info dumps required for world building? (OPINION)

It's not. My favorite analogy for this is that your world is a dark room, and your narrative is a flashlight. You know what's in the room, but you don't want to show it all to the reader at once because then you run the risk of it being boring and/or overwhelming. A paragraph or two of...

are there sites like scribblehub for webcomics?

I know a few hosted on Comicfury, https://comicfury.com/ Depending on what you mean by "18+" you could also try Webtoons or Tapas. I used to use Tapas for my series and was able to post gore and censored nudity there. Just check their TOS and stuff. But note that having mature content will...

Why wouldn't you want them to be interesting? Even if your supporting cast is full of everyday people, they'll still have things they love, things they hate, regrets, dreams/goals, quirks, etc. Their personalities will still contrast with the personalities of other characters, and with the...

Here's my website, which is half-professional and half-personal. And here's the sub-site specifically for my series. It's hosted on Neocities and coded with HTML/CSS by yours truly. I find that having my own site gives me a lot of freedom and comfort when social media gets annoying. It's also...

What sci-fi tropes/clichés do you hate/love the most

Same here. Big fan of aliens that are actually, well, alien. One of my pet peeves is when a story's alien species are just "human but blue," "human with horns," etc. It's boring. It doesn't stop me from enjoying a series, but it definitely makes me less interested in your aliens.

Has anyone used Floorplanner (or similar programs) to get in touch with their characters?

I use Homestyler to make models of interiors, which I use for my series' illustrations. It's a little clunky but it gets the job done. I've got a whole house modeled in it, including different character rooms.
