Recommendations Looking for a main character that switches between gender

Gonna give a +1 to the Romeo Romeo why are you a woman rec, I'm fairly sure the character is intended as genderfluid. I haven't read it myself, but I am friends with the author.

Stolen content from ScribbleHub being published on Kindle without permission

Guess I'm going to have to edit some of my story summaries to elaborate on the CC license I want to use. Feeling half pissed and half flattered that they'd consider my stuff good enough to pirate.

    Why Alice scares me

I don't think Alice could be scary if she tried. She has baby energy.

Do you still have hope of becoming a professional writer without a degree backing you up?

Depending on where in the world you live, odds are there's literally no such thing as a degree in 'Writing'. There's no formal uni classes for that stuff in France, for example. And I checked. ...While I was already in uni. Not my smartest move.

What is the best writing advice you’ve ever come across and take it to heart?

The way I heard that one was "It is better to be one person's most favorite than five people's fifth-most favorite", but the drinks allegory works too :p

How long have y'all been writing? What have you improved on?

Started writing around May 2018, though I also had about a decade of experience as a teen on play by post roleplay forums. The biggest way I’ve improved is that I’m not a native English speaker, and you could tell by the amount of time sentence construction from my mother tongue, as well as...

Does gender bender tag apply to this

I'd say... depends how you intend it? There's definitely room to tag it, if you think it relevant to the character's story. You might also wanna tag it as transgender, assuming this is about the main character becoming/discovering they are agender (which, being a non-binary identity, falls under...

Writing This may come off as silly but, how does an author add the unique Scribble Hub emojis in the text editor?

It's technically an exploit, so you won't find people just sharing it for all to see on the forum. Tony is leaving it be on a as-long-as-no-one-uses-it-nefariously basis, so last thing we want is for somebody to be that asshole that forces him to put the toys back in the box. On top of that the...

Thoughts on "Show, Dont Tell" from a professional author

Show and tell are both tools that a good writer should have in their toolbelt. But like you shouldn’t hammer in a screw, it’s a matter of knowing when to use which.

[Closed - Results Available] The Yuri Garden Writing Competition (2021)

Good luck to everyone who entered (and those who will squeeze in at the last minute if there is any)! Personally I enjoyed most of the stories in the collection, so regardless of how it goes down, I'll count this competition as a win :)

Writing Prompt Mental Illness: The Sequel

Ah, trying to force themselves to the front. Sure, if the system's a bit dysfunctional and bad at internal communication, that's more than plausible.

Writing Prompt Mental Illness: The Sequel

Yeah looking at the OP's premise, just sounds like a plural system with continuous memory and little trouble switching who's fronting. I also assume they're able to communicate with one another in headspace. As long as you like, avoid the extremely tired trope of the "evil headmate" (not saying...

Is explaining too much a bad thing?

Imo, explaining as little as possible is the risk free option. You stick to the emotional beats of the story, you don't get bogged down by the details, plot holes become secondary to just making the story a good time. But, choosing what to explain (and especially explaining it at the right...

    The Second Tempest Contest

Not if your story is set in France. I also have a question, still on the "what qualifies as an unconventional weapon" theme. Would a sword that handles differently that the "conventional" sword count? E.G. something like a Dancing Sword from DnD.

Writing Prompt Insanity and Mental Illness

Oh yeah gonna double down on that "see a therapist" advice. We live in... interesting (pejorative) times, don't underestimate how much everyone needs a bit of professional help. (Sadly I'll also have to temper that advice by saying like 90% of therapists are garbo... as I said, interesting...
