The henchman is been ordered to do a job, be it rough up some youngster, to bully someone daily, or do some arson and thieve.

What if the henchman is not an idiot? What if they think the boss the orders are stupid? What if they had a conscience? What choices would they make so they won't lose their job? Do this henchmen have a line that they won't cross? Where is the line?

I guess it depends on how the organization the henchmen works for operate, just do the bare minimum of what’s needed to be done to not get in trouble, or just ignore the orders of the superior and do something that’s better like the German officers did in ww2

Otherwise, nothing is true and everything is permitted. All is fair in love and war. Sometime, the henchman have no choice. Especially in situations where insubordination equals death.
