*on the way to the infirmary*

"I wonder who could have possibly done this. We should definitely establish an investigation. Hopefully the Nurse can heal them."
I thought about the figure I saw earlier and wondered if they were the culprit. Putting such thoughts at the back of my mind to tell the teachers of this, I shook my head and gave a reassuring smile.
"I'm sure the Nurse will be able to figure out what's happened to this girl. In the mean time, all we can do is pray to the Goddess that she keeps this place safe from further dangers."
*casually taking glances at Lady Taylore*

"Lady Taylore... my siblings haven't been to this school. What kinds of classes should i expect from this school?"
Not noticing the glances, I thought about the different classes available and wondered if Johan's siblings would be into using swords as much as he seemed to be. Thinking along those lines, I recalled an exceptional teacher the principal personally hired, as well as other teachers for the other subjects.
"Hmm, we have the expected classes in Magic Theory, Practical Magic, Politics for the nobles, Governing and Economics for the nobles - though commoners can also take part in the Economics parts. As for other, less well-known, subjects, we have Magic Warrior classes, as well as Physical Education. Ah, both of those are taught by Mr Reavis who is an exceptionally skilled fighter who specialises in going against magic users."

After listing several subjects, we reached the Infirmary, to which I knocked on the door before hearing the Nurse inside say to come in.

"Nurse, we found this student unconscious in the corridor with this in her arm." I handed the syringe to her, "I didn't think it wise to leave her there and so requested support from Mr Wulff to aid in carrying her here. Would it be okay to ask for a note for him explaining his absence from the Opening Ceremony?"

I saw the Nurse nod before taking the syringe, writing a note, then handing it over and checking on the patient.

"Many thanks, Nurse. Pardon my rudeness, however we need to attend the Opening Ceremony."

I watched as the Nurse simply waved her hand to show it was fine for us to leave, which brought relief to me.

"Come on, Johan. Just this once, I will ignore breaking the rule of running to get to the Auditorium." I smiled at him before running ahead. As I ran, I suddenly remembered that Angelica had a gift for healing and felt stupid for not asking her to have a go at helping...

"... It is my firm belief that each of us must accept the responsibility of bettering our school. However, change cannot occur without sustained effort and an unprecedented level of commitment. That is why we must restructure our daily lives to accommodate this lofty goal. I’d like each of you to dig deeply into your well of motivation, and re-evaluate your convictions… To imagine a bold new future without losing sight of the realities around you.

That, is the key.

I am certain that many of you have your own visions of the future… For us to reap the full benefits of our education, your participation, ideas, and enthusiasm are essential.

Thank you."

Listening to the speech by the headmaster made me feel inspired. I had expected to hear something boring. Perhaps, I am too biased by the speech of headmasters in my previous life.

Our education as nobles had asked us to always act with grace. Still as a stone, everyone around me stood upright, watching the teacher passing the baton (figuratively) to the student council president.

Alone, again.

Well, not really. The nurse is still there inspecting the syringe and the liquid inside. The syringe I borrowed from her earlier in the morning. Now that I'm back in control of my body, I decided to do something I did the best. Sleeping.

The Opening Ceremony will start with or without me. I won't be missed. On the other hand, I'm bored being Revin daughter #2. I think it's about time to act like a normal girl for once. My big sis is only human in appearance, and she acted more normal than me. Too normal, I believe.

The question is, how do you act normal without arousing suspicion?

Normal people don't think other people as potential test subjects for experimental mind-altering substances, right? Let's start with that.

'Finally this thing is almost over.' Ciel thought whole waiting for the next speech.
Having made it to the Auditorium in time, I parted ways with Johan and headed to the backstage where I was given several concerned looks for my tardiness. I gave a wry smile at the rest of the Student Council members before hearing the end of the headmaster's speech approaching. Walking up and stepping onto the stage, I took a deep breath as I saw the huge number of students below.

"Everyone, I shan't reiterate what our headmaster has already established in his speech, so I will instead talk about what I expect and hope to see from you all." I glanced around, briefly making eye contact with my twin siblings who were waving at me. "Ahhh, how embarrassing!" I then returned my gaze to the centre without focusing on anyone in particular and continued:

"This school was built on the foundations of linking the nobles with the commoners, as well as ensuring the prosperity of future generations of our nation. As the Goddess is the Light, the Abyss Demon is the Dark, so must we strive to maintain a balance of harmony between each other. This is a place of learning; a place of growing! It is also a place to foster friendship." I gave a warm smile to as many of the students as possible.

"Do not feel that there is a barrier that must be maintained purely because of your social class. As commoners need nobles to ensure safety and order, the nobles need commoners to ensure prosperity and power. Without one, the other will not function properly." I could feel my legs beginning to shake behind the lectern but didn't let it show.

"So I'll end this with a simply request, from your Student Council President to the next generation of students: have fun and make plenty of friends! School is more fun when you have people to enjoy it with!" I gave an enthusiastic smile, thanked everyone for being there, then motioned for the Headmaster to finish the Opening Ceremony.

While everyone were getting to know each others...

Deer R. Axe was in a forest.

He definitely wasn't lost. He was just taking a stroll. Yes, that's right. He wasn't lost! Besides, it's not like they'll notice a commoner like him missing from the opening ceremony!

'I really need to find my way back though...'

Thinking so, Deer began to go into a light jog. Let us hope he didn't encounter any monster...

(OOC: If anyone wants to include me in an event, @ me.)

With the ceremony at a close, myself - along with the rest of the Student Council - and the staff gathered for a post-ceremony meeting to see how things went. I got grilled for being late, to which I explained about the suspicious person I saw vanish behind a tree, to the unconscious girl I discovered with a syringe in her arm. With my report finished, the teachers dismissed us so they could discuss more confidential matters - while tasking us with checking who did and didn't attend the ceremony.

"Eh? Mr Axe and Mr Carom didn't attend?"
I subconsciously tapped the pen on the clipboard as I thought about what could have happened to them, when I noticed Mr Reavis leaning against a wall and dozing instead of being with the rest of the staff.
"..."
I then had a thought and walked up to him.
"Mr Reavis? Could I task you with finding some missing students?" I asked with a warm smile.

Meanwhile, one of said missing students - Daurem Carom - is hiding near the auditorium. When the mass of students went towards the auditorium he simply couldn't help but hide nearby - after all, being around so many people at once is quite frightening to him. He did listen in on the speech from the side.

And after realizing that he just skipped an important event and that he might get in trouble, memories of his family popped him, turning him into a shivering mess curled up in a remote corner of the academy. Having already imagined all kinds of bad scenarios, he now forces himself to calm down and rationally consider his current state, trying to decide on what to do now - though it will still take long before he will reach a decision.

With the ceremony done, and the students exiting the auditorium. Ciel noticed alone person curled up in a corner of academy.

'Huh, well not my problem.' Ciel thought as he kept walking.

POV Aurora

*_* So much talking ongoing. So many people babbling. Too many conversations. Auditorium too social for a fresh year. Too many humans Aurora didn't know. They were making her nervous. They were loud. Their manners so crude and unrefined for someone from a household like her,

Head spinning. Aurora confused. Aurora tired from listening from all the listening. Humans are strange. Especially, the blonde girl from before. She looks so happy and enthusiastic all the time. She seemed trustful. Maybe I should ask her to share her secret with her, the secret of happiness. The girl surely knows.

Yes, she would ask her, but later. For now, she was tired.

*Aurora yawns* Retreating into a silent corner to take a little nap, away from all the people.

*Aurora sleeps in peacefully*

Still haven't found any friend. Still lonely. Veronica was right, friends important, but they are hard to find.

As Ciel looked for the library he noticed another person in the corner.

'what is up with people and corners at this school?' Ciel thought as he kept walking.

POV Aurora

Aurora was about to enter her fluffy dreamworld and enjoy a peaceful slumber, but reality decided otherwise. She had already appropriated, someday might say even stolen, a curtain, now turned into a blanket. She was just missing a soft pillow, but her options were limited in that regard. She found nothing and nobody she could use as a pillow.

But everything came otherwise. Her senses sharpened. The feeling of a stare penetrated her back. Someone observed her. She didn't like that. She never liked it.

Aurora turned her head in a quick and abrupt motion. Her dark purple eyes aimed at her mysterious observer.

Her stare fell on a boy. Aurora narrowed her eyes.

At the Academy's gates, Eudes approached and did not know where to go. It would have been a brilliant idea to ask one of his big sisters, but... let's say that he did not care much about the Academy of Attessia till his friends reminded him a few days ago that there was the entrance ceremony. Somehow, thugs were more responsible than him.

"Aaaah, I don't want to go."
Life in the neighbourhood is good enough. If he wished, he would already be a working man, following in his parents' steps... however, he preferred stability. In any case, where does he have to go?
"If only I knew..."

Wait, at what hour did he have to arrive? While he did not know, he thought that he was already too late. As for why? That is simple. Since his birth, he rarely was on time. Actually, even his birth was late.
"Let's visit the place I suppose."

Tucked away in one of the emptier corners of the school, lightly snoring away was the girl. The leaves of the tree she was leaning against blocked out the morning sun, allowing her to continue napping in the shade.

"...Zzz..."

A single leaf fell from the branches above, drifting loosely in the wind until it came to a rest. The girl wrinkled her nose where it had been brushed, but continued napping nonetheless.

What about the opening ceremony, one might ask?

And what about it?
The dreamer might have replied.

I'll fall asleep during the ceremony anyway, so might as well find a better spot to nap.

Seeing someone in one of the corners of the school, Eudes knew what he had to do. Force an answer out of-- wait no, just ask a question. Approaching the girl who... seemed to be napping? Isn't there a dormitory for that? Where even is the dormitory... oh. After a sigh, he decided not to cause too much trouble and tapped the girl's leg with his feet, to softly wake her up. If it doesn't work, he may shout at her ears.

"Wake up. I have a few questions."

Liz's seventh sense told her she is not the one to skip the opening ceremony by falling asleep. It's a good thing she did it in a proper bed inside the infirmary, not some random corner like most people. People are weird. Or is this supposed to be the new normal?

The napping girl frowned at the contact, responding with a sleepy mumble.

"If it's about the written assignment...I'll hand it in later. If it's not urgent...five more minutes..."

She shifted her body, turning to the side, and continued dozing off.

At the gate, A lively sunlight shines over Alba's face as he walks tiredly into the academy. He can see students walking to the building where the entrance ceremony is located.

Ugh. Why did I take my uncle advice coming here? Such a pain.

He walks behind a random bush and lays down under the tree.

The teachers won't notice me if I ditch the ceremony anyway. *sighs* I wish I took the demon's offer. Be slug. Just crawls along the ground and eats grass all day.
