A stupidly random idea

I've always had a soft spot for point and click puzzle games like the Monkey Island series. I was just playing Darkside Detective (hilarious game, definitely recommend) when I had probably the most random idea I've had in years: if I wrote a story about someone getting stuck inside a point and click game, and they had to solve a series of moon logic inventory puzzles, would that appeal to the gamelit crowd?

I'm almost definitely not going to do this, but you know how it goes. Now that the idea's in my head...

I think, as with most of those games, it would get very tedious to read ... and even moreso to write, unless your whole "schtick" is the character complaining about how stupid the puzzles are. "Why would they hide this piece under that piece when I can barely move that without the other one from four rooms back? This is just bad design..."
"When I get out of here, I'm going to shove the designer in his own blasted game..."

Pretty much make the MC something like Sigourney Weaver's character from Galaxy Quest and you might have something, come to think of it...

It’s an interesting thought, but I don’t know if I would enjoy it. I grew up with those point-and-click adventure games, too, Myst being one of the best in the genre. However, watching someone play it, as opposed to being the gamer on the keyboard, needs to be entertaining if you’re essentially writing a “Let’s Play” of a game like this. If the player/protagonist is boring, the story may not work, but it’s still doable.
