never expect the ai to be able to improvise like that

the funniest thing about this is how heavy it sounds with the tags lol

guess that's how extending from meshuggah tracks are like

all that aside, i feel this composition is pretty solid

this is probably one of the rare generations where it can improvise on tim henson's riffs, even for a bit

the composition is overall solid with varying melodies instead of the same old error of repeating a particular riff too much

the composition is decent, has the groove and not boring

It's been a while since I last created songs with Suno. I'm particularly satisfied with this one I made for my novel. Suno has improved quite a bit over these past months.

ahahaha the mix of death metal vocals and cute tunes just lift my sides to orbit xD

not death metal vocal but still catchy

looooooooooool, they even rendered corey's vocals in this one, almost felt like a mashup

this one's also pretty good

this used the corrupted version of fireflies by owl city

just look up fireflies but the lyrics suck

but actually they're gold

i did change some of the lyrics since suno kept getting error when trying to render it

just something random i got while trying to get this to work, actually quite fire

had an idea to extend from drum tracks instead, this turn out pretty nice, dem grooves. using the 70s sound drum beat sample on youtube.

nice tunes, this one uses a 7/8 drum beat sample.

sounds pretty decent

some more experiments

it appears that the best ones to extend seem to be the backing tracks, esp drums or anything simple enough that can be looped. the model feels kinda bad when trying to extend over really complex melodies and rhythms, esp solo parts.

also, the v4 remaster feels useless too. i barely hear any difference.

this one's pretty nice, apparently the prog and time signature tag is useless. better just stick to the usual genres and extend from drum tracks with irregular time signatures.

this one is from middle eastern vibe drum track, i figure it suits the folk tune well, so there you go

Suno version 4 is amazing, @gaylolis . The improvement is impressive.
Listen to the remade version of a song I had already created with your prompts, but now the AI handles instrumentals so fantastically. I'm truly blown away.

it was indeed pretty awesome, tho i personally don't care much about v4 since it's paid only lol

dem emotional guitar solo

this has unusual melody, feels like heavy metal jamiroquai

overall i guess it's still bit better to extend from a melody or full song than the drums alone, the preset melody can be pretty mid. but yea the thing about extending via drums is that you're not really locked behind a specific genre. while extending from melody you got to work with tunes that go with the extended melody.

So, I tried using your prompt to compare the difference between V3.5 and V4.

I’m not sure if it’s exactly what you were aiming for, but to me, it looks really good. The two results turned out very different, but I like both of them.

If you want to experiment with some prompts, feel free to ask me!

Here are some of my latest experiments that I’m particularly proud of:

Cowboy Samurai is a silly song inspired by the upcoming game Showa American History. I like how I managed to integrate traditional Japanese instruments into country rock.

Mære of the Night is a gothic metal song that aims to evoke the early 2000s vibes of bands like Evanescence, with a touch of prog to spice things up.

Ethereal Dreams of Light is one I’m quite fond of, with its cryptic and surreal lyrics paired with syncopated sounds. I’d especially love to hear your thoughts on this one, @gaylolis .

oh yeah, i forgot to mention that the prompts itself doesn't matter as much, the main thing is extending from the samples i upload.

also, the lyrics are from richard marx - take this heart song, so you probably can get copyright claimed unless you private it :D

i personally didn't like the usual prompt generation as much since i want a bit of control on the end result, and i didn't really publicize my uploads either haha

depending on the sample, it can generate really unusual tunes and vibes too. the usual prompt-only generation usually sounds standard. which is good, but maybe not enough if you're looking for something more.

the generations are pretty good, but i'm curious what will happen if you used my samples. you probably can either extend directly or rip it with idm or jdwonloader2 when playing it. you can see it below the song, there's extended from... that's clickable. but if it's accessible to me only, i guess it couldn't be helped.

about the song

samurai cowboy -> it sounds like you kidnapped boothill from honkai star rail and get him to sing it haha, also weeb

evanescence vibe -> it does nail it indeed

surreal prog -> it can indeed create some unusual melodies, i like the intro and dem beats. but it feels the usual prompt generation still played it safe in the majority of parts haha.

well what i'm curious about is how good v4 will extend the samples we upload. you can pick any audio up to 1 min long, upload it, use your usual prompts and extend from that. i had been getting lots of interesting tunes from it. i usually just use audacity and cut the first min of my samples.

tho if the sample is too famous, it can easily get copyright flagged. so you either have to edit it several times subtly, or use something not likely to be flagged. for example: covers, instrumentals and such.

I like using Suno to make songs based on my story chapters.

Story is a Xianxia and I really love how you can get the traditional stuff in there as thematic. Also V4 seems to have a good ability to follow prompts in the brackets for things like rising action, crescendo, beat drops, etc.

It also has a really good duration, and extends are great. The persona feature means you can often get the same voice for songs. You can select sections to edit and regenerate of an otherwise good generation and redo them, with the same or new lyrics even. I haven't done much in a while so these all are new features that really make things a lot easier to tune things with.

(First one might be NSFW, has some cursing.)

this wonderwall cover is gold

i like when the lyrics reversed the original one it pretty much sound russian

this is just lol

this captures the vibe of bros just jamming for fun, the vocals may be intended to suck but it has some fun, imperfect character that feels fresh

from matt mullholand's bad recorder meme, but none of the samples got taken in

still, the results were fire tho. but i feel i sampled wonderwall instead of that bad recorder song

oh shit, that's true, i uploaded the wrong sample

man, task failed successfully

this is pretty solid too. it has the 90s boyband vibes like westlife

why tf this actually keep getting better lmao, dem chord progression at first chorus really sold me

also lol at 'you have to wait' in the end

how they layered (on and on) part with the ones in original sample is just genius

their progression was also most dynamic here, truly chef's kiss

the sample is from night by marty friedman, man the ai cooked hard for this one

this mix is goated, real cozy and nice melody, holy shit that vocals near the end

looks like this is what zeppelin would sound like if they're formed in nashville, still, after so many tries it never really sampled marty's genius guitar intro sadge

this is from ayumu's bass sample for davie504 video, the tunes work well for this song, the interlude with the bass sample playing in full is just chef's kiss

maybe the best samples are the backing tracks and the prompt + lyrics that suits the vibe, even unusual ones might work when it works

okay this is fking fire, it was even better than the prev one
