Yep. I only watched the first two gens though. With Tai using Agumon in the first-gen and then Davis with Veemon in the second-gen.

I watched the Japanese version of season 1 (in content, I mean) in Chinese dub when I was young. One of my favorites. Still up there if you were to make me rank kids' anime until now.

I know the English version did a lot, and I mean a lot, of campy edits and changed music, but in its original form, I still think it holds up really well for a kids' show. I can still enjoy it, and the character arcs are great.

I watched every season until the fifth one and Tri, plus the Last Evolution movie. I liked the first one and Savers the most.

On a slightly ironic note, that's probably a number of people currently in their late 20s' first experience with isekai.

Yeah, but it’s the same as yugioh dub for English, it’s bad but it’s just the best version because you grew up with it

I didn't though. Even in Yugioh, I am so thankful I didn't get to watch the 4kids version (although it's good for memes)

The only gripe I had was it never finished airing when I was young. The network apparently bought the show until the part where Marik and Bakura fought and just kept rerunning it from the start afterwards.

Makes sense for a stopping point since what follows is a longass filler arc, but it also feels bad not seeing the end of Battle City as an 11-year old.

Ahh... classic example of the 4-Kids era of anime. Trust me, the Japanese version is a lot better. Actually, while it's still very much a show for kids, the story and presentation really are a LOT better in the Japanese version. The 4-Kids version was a bad Pokemon rip-off. The Japanese version blew Pokemon at the very least way out of the water and was one of the earlier examples of very serious story-telling in kids shows.

(Not quite to the level of the 92 Batman animated series, but it does have a continuous story-arc from episode to episode going for it as an advantage over US programing.)

I only remember it a little. I didn't watch much TV while growing up. Yu-Gi-Oh! was one of the few things I found worth watching.

I'm actually a pretty big fan of Digimon. It's a very silly series and still goes strong today. Season 3 is a legit good anime though.

Also do yourself a favor and look up Gundramon and just behold it. Alternatively look up the wiki for the slew of 'but what if it was a hot lady' designs the series has. Iconic series.

I still love Digimon World 1 for the PS1. So much so I dedicated part of a story I wrote teaching life lessons to a child about life and death.

I was born in the era when it wasn't aired, I was quite a big boy when I first heard of digimon, when I was browsing through some flash game and found a digimon fangame

Do you remember the magic knight of Rayearth!?!

Just realised... either 90s is saturated with mecha, or I just watched a ton of mecha anime in my adolescence...

I guess being net savvy in the late nineties, as well as fearlessly unware of grooming, catfishing and scams ended up giving me a lot of anime to watch...

Tekkaman Blade, The Vision of Escaflowne, Mobile Suit Gundam Wing (well ALL the Gundams :sweating_profusely:), GENERATOR GAWL, All the Macross... Zoids, Infinite Ryvius, Martian Successor Nadesico, Iron Leaguer, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Brave Police J-Decker, Battle Command Dagwon...

Ah~ memories...

Renamon porn. That's it. That's all I remember from Digimon.

Never gonna forget Digimon. Along with Monster Farm/Rancher, both are good childhood memories. Thank goodness we got the Japanese script with local dub.
...although after few episodes in, they dubbed Butter-fly too. Bummer. (at least they kept Farm's openings & endings intact)

I still like it quite a bit~

I played most of the old games (most of them are garbage, don't try them out.) and watched most of the animes. They were fun~

I need to catch up to the reboot of Adventure though. I think it might have ended already, yet I'm still at episode 40ish.

Quick review of old games for anyone that cares:

Digimon World 1: A game that is kinda like a virtual pet mixed with a battle system. It's actually good, but the genre is mega niche. Play it if you like the genre.

Digimon World 2: 3v3 turn-based JRPG. It's really clunky and slow, but there is enough depth in the gameplay to be enjoyable... I'd say it's a mediocre game.

DW3: 1v1 turn-based JRPG. The gameplay is pure garbage with 0 depth and 0 difficulty, but there is a really fun card battle minigame in it. The OST is also pretty nice. Play if you wanna try out the minigame while enduring the garbage main game gameplay.

DW4: A hack and slash game that could maybe be fun if you had friends to play with back when it was released... Well, good luck finding people to play local co-op in a ps2 game now. It's pure garbage, don't bother.

Digimon Story (Digimon World DS): 3v3 turn-based JRPG. It's not as clunky as DW2, but it also has less depth and has far too little in the terms of difficulty. A subpar game overall.

And those are the ones I remember playing... I did say to not bother with them! They're mostly bad! XD

DW 2 is my favorite among the DW's. I like the amount of mons you can use, which DW 3 didn't have.

You tried Digimon Story Dusk/Dawn? The sequel to Digimon World DS. There's so many more mons to use, the evolution lines finally make sense, and the learnsets got improved. but I feel that I like the plot of the first one is better.

Yeah, DW2 is pretty fun~

... Can't say I care too much about the amount of mons, but I liked the wide variety of moves, it allowed you to play with quite a few different strategies... It's a bit too slow and clunky though, which really hinders the game's potential.

I didn't try dawn/dusk yet. They were the next ones on my list of digimon binge, but I kinda lost the hype for digimon in the meanwhile because I started watching appmon, which almost killed my love for the franchise... >.>

I might try it out one of these days, but my list of games is a bit big rn... I'll probably play Next Order first, since I like DW1 more than the others because I actually like the weird mix of tamagochi and battles that is in that game~
