Since we began discussing BL and many people seem interested in sharing any BL (m/m)-related news and media with others -- then why don't we begin? ^^

This thread is for sharing links, pictures, videos, news about releases of TV Shows, OVAs, translations, recommendations of your favorite mangas, webtoons, dramas, your new stories outside of SH, collaborations, games, etc!

And for cross-pollinating ideas and releases. I, for myself, am not well-versed in mangas and webtoons so if someone here shares them, I usually go with those recommendations! I can't search for myself (I am lame and lazy, I know) and rely specifically on others to do that for me. So if you put any of the good ones in this thread, I will be very grateful, .

Like, to begin --

Yuri!!! on Ice Movie called Ice Adolescence Trailer (prequel, I guess? ). I love the figure skating routines and the choreography in the original so much -- and I am very excited to see what this movie has to offer apart from the BL narrative ^^.

Oh, there is going to be a movie? Truth be told, I haven't even finished watching the series (I tend to pause and then not remember where I was so I don't know where to pick it up again) but maybe I'll just give it a good guess and go for it again ...

Truth be told, I originally started reading this because the ML just looks so much like what I had the ML of my main story planned to look like originally, and then the storyline very amazingly had some similarities as well (like, the MC being reincarnated from a god to a mortal, starting to cultivate, regaining some memories from his past life bit by bit ...), so this story just immensely resonated with me.
Even without that, I feel like it's very emotional and gripping, I love the art, the backstory is very promising, there's quite a bit of conflict, lots at stake. In short: This is the type of story where I regularly go and check for updates, then obsess over them, and feel so robbed because it'll be some time until the next one

I haven't read many mangas or watched many animes, but I've dunked my head into the CN's, if you'd like some recs. My tastes are pretty silly though (fluff and possible Gary Stu's for days).
Out of the few animes I've watched, I'd recommend Doukyusei if you haven't already seen it. I watched the movie then got addicted to the manga soon after, so a 5/5 from me.

:0 Is it good? I've been wanting to read it (I wanted to read it first then watch it) for a while, only to get scared off right as I start.

It's pretty good! I think watching it first isn't sooo bad, it helped me visualise the characters and the setting. It also makes reading the start of the novel less confusing lol. And now that I'm also reading it, I can now get extra background information that the donghua left out.

Is the novel as hard to read as mxtx other works?

Given that each character tends to have multiple names (name and title and alter egos...) I would probably say yes which is why I recommend reading part of the manhua or watching part of the donghua first so that you can get a grasp of the characters and settings...

The thread started off very sadly. MXTX is like the staple of our genre.

On that same note -- another of her adaptations coming out nowadays.

Still makes me curious as to why they chose to do it in a digital animation like that... Then again, donghuas are probably harder to make, so...

If not a secret -- what do you mean by that? I thought that Scum Villain was super easy on the names and such... Or do you mean some other qualities? I know that her books are long and sometimes convoluted, but it's mainly the two last ones rather than the first.

HOB intimidates me greatly, lol ^^. What are your thoughts about it thus far? Is it more on the "interesting" side, or "cute" or "mysterious" or "world-building-y" or something else?

Hmm the novel feels more like mystery, while the donghua plays more to the cute interactions between characters

Another news since we are supposed to share them every once in a while ^^. Heaven Official's Blessing TV Show will soon start casting and is scheduled to start filming in 2021 ^^.

On a separate note ^^. There are rumored at least 70 BL Chinese book adaptations being filmed atm so the likelihood that at least some of them will pass the censorship and will make it to the screens! Among them are a few that are on NU so you can check out the source material!

Oh, right, I haven't recommended my absolute favorite manga yet: Yami no Kodou
It's been running since the 90s so the art has that kind of 'old' vibe about it at the beginning to the point where it looks slightly odd when I start re-reading and I need a moment to get used to it but the whole story and lore is so gripping that you won't notice for long and especially in the latest volumes, it just looks absolutely stunning. (If you love long-haired dudes, you'll lick your screen! Ah, Shana ~ )
You will absolutely love this series if you don't mind strapping in for a long run (we're currently 27 volumes in), and love world-building with spiritual elements, supernatural beings, and also some very human emotional turmoils. There are some humorous parts while at other times, the series can be really sad and it is often dark (expect some violence and death).

Also, just to clarify: The reviews on the site I linked mention incest which ... is not part of the series. There's some strong brotherly love there (which does border on obsession sometimes) but absolutely no incestuous relationship.
