Just a fun challenge to see what people will come up with. There was a time last year when I had 4 dreams in one night which I can still recall. But there was one that I was intrigued in the most.
It was basically an anime action sequence where 4 characters, three guys and one a girl where fighting against a large reptilian creature. They lost the fight and then got caught in 3 of around 7 to 8 tails. Then there was a closeup where it showed the creature and the MC.
It looked like a giant white crocodile with multiple tails , a crest of green feathers on its head and the voice of a young woman. It then started squeezing the other 3 characters in order to persuade the MC to marry him so that they can be spared.
And that's pretty much all that happened. So I want you to try out to make your own lore for the sake of it. How did they confront the creature? Why does it lust after the MC and what are they after? And what happens next?
Well, my colleagues. Allow me to tell you a world of ugly wonders.
Among the stars and the galaxies, a world is made of energy, which lots of writers call "Mana." I'd like to tackle their claim of the mana stuff, but we'll talk about that later. Now, where was I? Ah yes. In that world, precisely on an Earth-like planet, Humans and demi-Humans live together. The details of the relationship between the two races are a little complicated, just like our relationship with our neighboring country. Oh! Almost forgot that there's also a third race. This one is just animals on steroids, similar to dogs injected with a dubious amount of stims if they were to be in our world. They're monsters. The two other races just outright hate them because of their appearance.
Let's start with their history, okay? So first, the Humans.
They're greedy, stinks, some of them are total pricks, and they like money, just like us. A large portion of them stays on the neutral side of morality, like me and you. A smaller portion does what a saint does, that's like the current Pope of Christ. And an even smaller portion of them live off the grid. Those are killers, psychos, assassins, mafias, and more.
We're gonna focus on the general things that they have, since I'd like my head kept intact with my body.
Culture. Yes, they have cultures, like the one we have. Because of this, I can summarize what this world is about in just plenty of words. But that wouldn't be fun, of course. So, I'll bring in some stories to tell you too, so you don't die of boredom.
Most of their cultures are alike with ours. Some key differences noted are because of the "Mana" stuff. Their history was changed fundamentally, vastly different when you compare them with our cultural history. And yet, somehow, the way they beg their god is the same as ours, and they have the same meaning. So when an Ireland-er said "God bless you" after roasting you, the Ireland-er in this world will also do that.
Because of the "Mana," their science and tech have grown past the word "Modern." They're in the future, unlike us, however. And like us, most of the best tech is available on the big cities, metropolitan places, and at the big shots' mansions. Though, in the AI department, their crafts are a little disappointing. Musk's gonna be amazed by their resources, and then hit in the face like a damn train because of how little advancement has been made regarding machine learning. Instead of advancing forward and making humanoid robots, they stick to modern-day machinery and optimize it. For once, I agree with them.
Ok, this is the boring part. I'm gonna skim through this one. Society's bla-bla-bla and then bla-bla-bla. And boom, future. Get it? Just think of their society works like ours. Keep anonymous on the Internet, politics is crap, manipulative media exists, yadda yadda, you know it.
Finally, the mana.
This is an important subject. I'll tell you why, but first, let me introduce you to Mana.
The fantasy people, or in other words "Writers", use this as a way for their characters to do impossible stuff and break the laws of physics. The way Mana works is like another form of energy that comes from living beings and surroundings. It's blue-colored, you can see it and feel it. I don't think you can eat or hear it tho. Some places have denser mana than others. A forest has a more denser mana than an urban city. So in this case, being a reddit/discord mod in a cabin in the middle of an unknown forest will actually benefit your body, since just moving a few times and breathing will give you fresh air and lighten up the mood and the weight of your fat.
When a living being is born, Mana will start to flow from their mother's womb uhh... Rope thingy to their body, and finally connects to their head, the main workplace where the Mana will be maintained. In the Humans' bodies, this line of Mana can be seen going from their abdomen to their brain. Same goes for the Demi-Humans. For the animals, however, two separate things can happen based on how they reproduce. If the animal gives birth, like cats and elephants, the babies will have a line drawn from their navel to their skull. If the animal lays eggs, then the line goes from their under-belly to their back. I don't know why, but that's that. And oh yeah, the third race (we're calling them Monsters from now on, don't want any redundancy) has the same Mana circulation as the regular animals.
Each being was born with various amounts of Mana, and each race has different limits of Mana. I'll convert them all to integers, so you moron can understand better about this.
50 Mana Point (MP) is the equivalent of a newborn human baby. If this baby grows to 18 without any Mana-related training, he'll have 1,000 Mana Points, and that is the minimum amount of Mana an adult could have. The humans have smaller MP at the start of their lives, but it's compensated with them having no limits on how much Mana Capacity they can have. So basically, they can start from the lowest of the food chain and reach the unreachable spot on the humongous tall throne of the food chain. Though, no one has been able to reach 1M MP. But, the good news, several of them have managed to get closer to that number, with the highest record being 922,324K MP.
And then- Oop, sorry, gotta answer the call.
*
Beep!*
Yes yes, with me speaking. So? Oh no, not him again. He made a catastrophe now, you say? Ha? Oh well, alright then.
*
Beep.*
I'll continue the explanation tomorrow. For now, work with what you've got.
Credit me if any of you wants to use this as a reference.
And leave a comment if you want to ask, I'll be sure to answer them.
See ya.
