I fucking despise that its is possesive, and it's is the contraction. I literally have to do its searches in every chapter I write.

It's really annoying but also weird. Possessives usually have the apostrophe but so do contractions. You're not the only one too have conniptions when writing them, I'm sure.

Hers or Her's
Its or It's
Theirs or Their's

Contractions came after possessive pronouns.
Understand now why it is 'Its'?
