I fully support Corty's request. I think it's a useful, even essential, tool for determining the reliability of certain reviews.Second try. I knew back then my original suggestion wouldn't go anywhere, so I'll try again with a different angle.
Can we add a "Dislike" button under reviews?

That's all, really. I trusted YT more when dislike was visible under videos; the same logic applies here.
It should be for reviews only. For stories we have the star system in place.Under reviews it would be pretty useful. But please, please, please, don't add it to stories
But Why?I am against it.
I've said it multiple times before. I don't want to give more authority to authors since I don't believe in them. I don't think they will be honest and won't abuse new feature. I would rather keep the status quo.But Why?
That won't happen as that was my first suggestion.Ability to review a review or give an authors note in case they are being a lil bitch.
I'd be kind of worried that it'd be abused. I often see stories with mixed reviews. A feature like this would have all the people who like the story attack the negative review even if it criticizes valid points, and people who dislike the story would also attack the positive reviews.Second try. Oh no, not the bees stalking a man!Time to stalk them then. Much healthier.
Ya sure it's not just you trying to troll a bit?Second try. I knew back then my original suggestion wouldn't go anywhere, so I'll try again with a different angle.

It's already abused by the rating system, and authors can't react to reviews besides reporting them. But to do that, reviews need to be blatantly obvious that it is malicious. Like including points from a comment flame-war from under a chapter. Authors have the power to remove and moderate their chapters and comments by even removing comments, pinning them, or just straight-up blocking users so they can no longer interact with their stories.I'd be kind of worried that it'd be abused. A feature like this would have all the people who like the story attack the negative review even if it criticizes valid points, and people who dislike the story would also attack the positive reviews.
I think it's worth the risk because that could deny authors who like bomb a good review that makes not really sense or just has a bad take.I've said it multiple times before. So far, I haven't seen a single argument that would make me change my opinion. If you think it's good, vote for it. I will vote against it until someone changes my mind.I think it's worth the risk because that could deny authors who like bomb a good review that makes not really sense or just has a bad take.
Who do you think has less bias? The author who wrote the story and wants it to succeed, or the reader who started reading the story (at first he wanted to enjoy it)? I'm not that worried about a few unhappy readers because, usually, the positive ratings/reviews eventually outnumber the negative ones. I am however concerned with an author abusing his options to censor or discredit the readers who may have valid points. But to do that, reviews need to be blatantly obvious that it is malicious.
And how would he do that with a dislike button? Honest question.Who do you think has less bias? By creating several accounts maybe or just having bots, but even if that's possible here the like button would count too as problematic because it could discredit negative points about the story because more positive reviews that might be more simple or incorrect could stand at the top?And how would he do that with a dislike button? Honest question.
That's my point too. The current system already has the same "issues" that are being brought up here. Just as Sailus said, I need to be convinced of the opposite to be against the idea.By creating several accounts maybe or just having bots, but even if that's possible here the like button would count too as problematic because it could discredit negative points about the story because more positive reviews that might be more simple or incorrect could stand at the top?
