We had it as part of other rating system discussion and the like, but now here as its own thread to not go under in all the usual quarrels.
Instead of trying to force out all the "negativity" (which will never work anyway), I would argue, that it's better to encourage positive behavior. Hence I would like to copy what works on other sites and show a portion of the latest/best-rated reviews on the frontpage.
This will not only give smaller stories with good reviews a possibility for some attention, but it'll also give more spotlights to the review system on the frontpage (instead hidden between 10 clicks where nobody is looking). So hopefully this would also motivate people to write more reviews because their opinion might actually be seen...
