When I was 5 my family was pretty poor in the boondocks near a swamp so when I wanted to go play outside my dad gave me a pocket knife and just said: "don't cut yourself with it." I was left unsupervised after that and ended up getting really good at woodcarving. Mind you this is the same man who taught me how to create a DIY flamethrower in order to kill spiders a year earlier. He was also the one who shot me and my brother in the thigh with BB guns as punishment for shooting each other with them.
