You are of course right, there are many hit boxes that would deserve to be singled out, albeit sex is a rather extreme example. Maybe it is just the fact that these harem type stories - my erotica definition is relatively broad and not everything has to be explicit - have a small but very active community and therefore more often than not land on the trending page and annoy me with titles like "Why is my Harem World a Yandere Nightmare" and "Slime Breeder".
I'll admit that my erotica definition is far less broad than the average, probably. To me, a story isn't really erotica or porn anything like that unless at least 50% of the story is full-on descriptive sex. But yeah, I understand what you mean. Threads like this just rub me the wrong way since they often point at the sexual factor and then diminish the author's work and quality by doing so, implying that they wouldn't be as successful if they didn't include sexual elements, or implying that other people would be more successful if they just tossed in some random sex. That's the kind of thing that really bothers me. And we could just as easily use this sort of logic to point out any of those other common themes. 6/9 of the front-page trending stories are tagged with "adventure" right now compared against 4/9 tagged with sexual content. If I were the OP of this entire thread, I could say "It's just as I've feared, Scribble Hub is turning into Adventure Hub," = P. Alas, it just always has to be sex that people point out.
I do kinda dig the name "Adventure Hub," though. Anyways, that about wraps up our conversation, I think, plus I have other things I should really probably go and do. Thanks for a conversation that was more fun than I thought it would be.
