How do you all feel about the 'thousand year old loli' trope?

I don't really care because they only exist for fan service most of the time. Adults that look young exist. My problem is that the focus is usually only on the fan service when being that old and looking that young has so much potential storywise. how did affect relationships? what has this character seen and been through? did they meet any person who went down in history? how do they deal with everyone aging and dying while they still look like a child? Those questions are interesting and they're almost never explored

Exactly what I had in mind.

Well I also personally transcend the concept of time itself, but I prefer to present myself as a manifestation of countless realities in the form of a green moustache. Hence, I do not condone omnipotent gods using the form of a female child to viscously eject innocent victims from existence, but you do you I guess. A thousand years is enough to present the concept of 'old' to mortals anyways, unless they read a lot of Xianxia, then I may have to add a 0 or twenty.
Oh, I'm no god. Though my random energies do sometimes synch up to something similar. And you're a Multiverse type ehhh? I know one of those. A bit of a silly fellow, always talking about infinities, as if that idea holds any weight. Also I find it amusing to wait until he gets an accurate count of the universes within his being, then creating or destroying a few so his count is off. Not to mention if I make em really small he sometimes misses them.

we need more moral crusaders in this thread, everyone is being too rational and reasonable so far.
How can I enjoy my popcorn if no one is willing to fight for the rights of invisible children!?

Well, chaos, it makes sense. Well I guess I kinda am the multiverse type? Idk, maybe I'm a bit bigger since my creations tell me that they've created countless multiverses. I let those misconceptions slide thought, I hate it when people compare power between beings that can't even die. Infinity kinda loses its meaning when it's used so much.. I mean there's infinite numbers between 1 and 2 but that's not really too impressive. I think I'm a similar breed to Azathoth, though please don't call me blind.
burn it with fire
Before it lays eggs, or after it lays eggs? I think it's important to know this

I warned everyone to not be too... Radical. I'm surprised no one went ahead anyways. Welp, I'll enjoy the time this thread is open until two extremes clash.

So, in case you don't know, it's basically a trope in JP web novels where there's a little girl who's actually way older than she looks. To be clear, I'm not here to start a debate on the morals of this, so don't go writing an essay about how its disgusting or how it's totally fine, pretty sure that's already been talked about a lot on this forum.
So now to the actual question, how do you feel about the trope, how do you think it should be done? Or are you simply tired of it? Perhaps you simply just enjoy it for the fan service?
IMO, most novels focus too much on the loli part rather than the thousand year old part. Most characters like this are pretty much for fanservice, I think its a lot of squandered potential, specially for those that focus a lot less on the slice-of-life genre. An example of this would be Rory from GATE, her backstory seemed pretty interesting imo, too bad it wasn't expanded as much as it could have been.(At least as far as I know)
Not a fan. It might work if it is a side-side-char or on the antagonist side or something. They are probably okay in sol too but idk, havent read one with a 1000 year old loli.

I'm surprised you haven't seen any thousand year old lolis in sol yet, considering we literally have characters like Kanna and Jahy, to be fair they do act like children so most people forget that they're supposedly pretty old.

I forgot about Kanna >.>
Not a fan of Jahy-like series in general so havent even given it a chance yet

I think a decent example of such a char might be Beatrice from Re:Zero.

ignoring sexual connotations,

It is interesting once. Which is to say the idea of someone of vast experience and knowledge with the appearance of a person who is utterly ignorant and uninformed of the world is a concept that can be both comedic and thought provoking, However after the first viewing of it, the idea becomes rather uninteresting, and can be found as an underlaying concept in many mediums. Essentially someone who is wiser than they appear. Turning that into the entire basis for a character doesn't make them compelling.

I think it's not just a matter of "wiser than they look", there's a lot more to it. It lies in the question "Why?". Why would such a being of age and wisdom choose to take a form of a child of all things? Is it a curse? A psychological thing? A limitation? There's endless variations to the trope beyond 'older than they look', and it could make for some interesting plot points.

"I hate it when people try to hit on me. Now when people hit on me, everyone says I'm perfectly justified in erasing them from existence. It's a win-win.

Huh? That's not what win-win means?"

If are capable of obliterating someone from existence then I doubt anyone will say otherwise no matter what form you take XD.

I usually don't really care one way or the other with the "loli-hag" type characters. But one place that it is done exceptionally well is in Ken Akamatsu's "Negima!?" and "UQ Holder". Although these are primarily fan-service and romcom genre manga, the immortal loli vampire witch of ice and darkness Evangeline has a seriously messed up grimdark backstory with a thousand years of bloodstained suffering. The depth of her age and her young appearance are even central to the overarching plot.

Well, that's pretty much the normal 'older than they look'. Any particular reason why you don't like people with a child-like appearance portrayed as an old person?
Because that’s clearly the author justifying writing about child pornography.

’Loli Babas’ almost never act like grandmas. They act like perverts, in the bodies of preteen girls, but it’s ok because they’re “really older than the MC”.

It’s almost never comical, or written as the curse it would be to have a 1000 year old person with a body of an 8yr old. It’s a fan service that is clearly geared towards a certain group of people who will pay money.
