Just today, I sat down and wrote in my notes about how exactly I'm going to go about this. I plan for my story to have one illustration per chapter and I really had to sit down to figure it out.
I might end up getting a job in the near future, so I predict I will only have 4 hours a day to work on my next project. I plan on writing 1500 words per chapter and that takes at minimum 40 minutes. Editing it may take 20. Each illustration will be an monochromatic outline, and that may take up to an hour or two depending on how many characters are in the illustration..
So with all that set up, here is what I currently outlined:
- I'm going to spend a few weeks writing the rough drafts for the first story arc.
- After that's done, I give them their first revision all at once.
- The chapters are being planned to be uploaded every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
- Start roughing all the planned illustrations.
- After this point, the chapters are now being ready to be uploaded for the weekend.
- Revise as much as I can for one hour and draw the illustration on the next.
- Cycle through this until Thursday. On that day, concentrate on only the upcoming 3 chapters.
- Friday, upload the current chapter and illustration, continue to revise chapters and draw illustrations.
- Do the same thing for Saturday.
- On Sunday, after uploading the latest chapter, go back to step 6 and repeat
All of this is being squeeze on 4 hours a day to prepare for when I get a job. Even then, this is all just a guess at this point.
What timing to ask this questions today. I feel like I got a good schedule down, but we'll see if things are as easy as I laid it out.
