I've been asked many questions about plotting, especially when it comes to arc-based stuff, so it's about time I tackled it. I highly recommend this one for web novel writers, specifically given how many people want to write these long narratives. Given how many people don't in this space don't write tight, linear stories, this is my first time going over things like this.

Plus, I share stuff you've not heard about, like the Story Serialization Spectrum. I'm 100% certain you haven't heard of it because it's another tool I created for writers.

My own version is :

"I will improvise, it always works for me"
-a MC trying to drive his first plane in a movie

Naruto improvised from a shitty B-tier story with Naruto being a furry fox (son of the dead big fox)
to a popular global work. Its why there is this BS beginning of the son of a Hokage being bullied, hence allowing lot of popular good chinese FFs writing the old Hokage being evil.

I'm definitely not against improv. I mean, did a video on it. :ROFLMAO: I just feel that making something up is just a starting point to get going. I see tons of people who do that, but they have no step beyond. For me, it's like watching someone who knows nothing about drawing just put down a bunch of random marks on a piece of paper and then just hope that someone likes it.

That was the point of my post, doing a joke about "improvisation". And naruto SOMEHOW changed from a bullshit furry manga to a global popular work.

And sadly, putting down a bunch of random marks on a white canvas could be sold for lot of money depending on the market.

or you got like : Invisible dragon
the work was SO TERRIBLE, that it became a phenomenon work
(in the same sense as 17703)
with people having a clashing theory, if the author is a 5y old, or a genius.

OnePunchMan is a better example compared to naruto. OPM (by ONE) was basically scribbles done in a blog kind of way.
but luck was on their side (like for any successful creator), the op artist of Eyeshield21 did a remake version for it.

tl;dr :

If the plot os too loose, then try to tighten it up by knitting the needles. Be careful so that you wont tighten it too much and ends up in tangles of unrecoverable consequences.

When improvising, take sources from deep reflection into yourself on why it you write it that way.

And look back on what do you know and think about the plkt back when youre just started and what actually is after you finally understand more of the topic.

It's okay if the story grows with author's skill and experience growth, even if there's gonna be lots of changes.

Because you can only make better decision with growth afterall.

Even if bitter event happens and things don't go the way we reader and author want it to be, its a result we must accept so that we could move forward.
