So I've been planning out a writing exercise to help differ my characters by showing the different reactions and choices they would each make if stuck in the same scenario/s. You can have a maximum of 5 characters and can also include side characters, but they must all be on their own with no other major/side characters to influence them.So without further ado here are the questions:
1. They are strolling through the forest and encounter a dragon hatchling whose mother was killed by phoenix.
2. They are taking care of a princess and get swarmed by a group of 7 bandits while fishing.
3. Your character finds out that their lover is a witch/wizard who works for the villain.
4. They are stranded in a tundra and come across a fresh dead animal that can be eaten raw. But a man sized wolf with electric powers also wants the meat.
5. The Knights Council arrives at their doorstep and wants them to go on a quest.

1. Eerie would act like the dragon mother was still alive, and the world would bend to her will, making the dragon mother alive by the miracle of play writing.
2. Eerie pretends to explode all of the bandit's heads, and it turns out they are good actors whose heads explode realistically.
3. Eerie would say: "You're also a villainess witch in this play!?"
4. Man sized wolf with electric powers is no match for Eerie's acting skills.
5. If it helps boost her acting career Eerie will do it.

One of them (either Liz or Malcolm) would wonder when they jumped worlds again, because neither the Earth they came from nor the world they are adventuring on has phoenixes. David would come up with a spell to contact one of the two dragons they know and ask for advice.
2. They are taking care of a princess and get swarmed by a group of 7 bandits while fishing.
The bandits have a quick decision to look into new career paths once Liz and Thellissandra both get going... assuming David does not take them out with magic first. Malcolm continues to fish as if nothing happened, and Carol keeps the princess company.
3. Your character finds out that their lover is a witch/wizard who works for the villain.
Malcolm's ex IS a witch/wizard who the villain plans to marry; if that's close enough, then ... we'll see in about 30 chapters from where I've currently written (and about 60 past where the story is here).
4. They are stranded in a tundra and come across a fresh dead animal that can be eaten raw. But a man sized wolf with electric powers also wants the meat.
Would be very situational, but most likely either Audrey would pull them all out of there, or David would duplicate the corpse with magic... unless Malcolm has his lute yet (that's two or three chapters ahead of where I've written), in which case he'd charm the wolf and maybe even be able to communicate with it, depending on its intelligence level.
5. The Knights Council arrives at their doorstep and wants them to go on a quest.
Kind of happens piecemeal already (though have not posted that part yet - and it's not a Knight's Council but group with similar authority)

1. He'd probably try to check if it's a 'dumb animal' type of baby dragon or 'as smart as an adult human' type of baby dragon. In either case, he'd be forced to kill it himself or hide it from people who would want it dead, but the scientific value he would try and obtain nonetheless.
2. Depending on how he's feeling, either they don't stand a chance, no matter how many advantages they stack against him, or harming that princess puts him into that mode (she might not live).
3. That'd be pretty normal in his world, considering villain is more like a job people have as opposed to a doer of evil.
4. Alone this is a non-issue because [super redacted eldritch nonsense], if side characters are present, it is a non-issue because they can also handle a random monster.
5. He'd be confused why they're asking for him and not someone more qualified, but they're still precedent for this nonetheless.

*Kuro (My MMC) will observe if the hatchling is not harmfully aggressive. If it is harmful aggressive but hasn't seen him yet, he'll tale another route. If it is not aggro and needs help, he'll help.

*Maddie (FMC) will destroy the dragon if it harms or tries to harm Kuro. Otherwise, nothing.

*Lily (FMC) will destroy the hatchling coz it might pose danger later on.

*Eris (FMC) will try to capture the hatchling to profit from it.
2. They are taking care of a princess and get swarmed by a group of 7 bandits while fishing.
*Kuro will try to negotiate, but if negotiations fails, he'll defend.

*Maddie will destroy the bandits if it harms Kuro.

*Lily will destroy the bandits.

*Eris will hire the bandits for some mercenary work.
3. Your character finds out that their lover is a witch/wizard who works for the villain.
*Kuro will try to know the motivations behind the connection. If it's reasonable, he might even help his lover.

*Maddie will join the villain if Kuro works for the latter.

*Lily will destroy both of them.

*Eris will negotiate for possible profits.
4. They are stranded in a tundra and come across a fresh dead animal that can be eaten raw. But a man sized wolf with electric powers also wants the meat.
*Kuro will share. If wolf goes aggro, he'll defend enough to try a win-win solution.

*Maddie doesn't care as long as Kuro is fine.

*Lily will try to share. If wolf goes aggro, she'll kill it.

*Eris will negotiate. If wolf goes aggro, she'll have people defend her.
5. The Knights Council arrives at their doorstep and wants them to go on a quest.
*Kuro will want to know why he should go on a quest with them. If he wasn't convinced, he'll refuse.

*Maddie is the giver of the quest. She's the saint. And she'll only move if something happens to Kuro.

*Lily serves Maddie. She won't be convinced unless Maddie says so.

*Eris will ask if there's money to be made. If there is, she will send people to go instead of her.

My cast is a party of gamers in a VRMMO:
Elyssia, wind sylvani martial artist. Tank. Pro gamer. Hates questing. Loves raids, Battles.
Kaelyn, half-blood felinae priestess. Healer. Plays the game to mostly manipulate other players and experiment with social dynamics.
Leoric, noble burrovian ranger. DPS. Plays the game to escape familial and societal expectations. Loves questing, highly independent.
Vaelith, kindred dracan mage. DPS. Truly immerse in the game. Learns quickly, but is not a hardcore gamer. Self-sacrificing.

1. They are strolling through the forest and encounter a dragon hatchling whose mother was killed by phoenix.

Vaelith would probably ask Kaelyn to help heal the dragon with magic / alchemy. She would cook it meals with her cooking skill, and make some nice, comfy cushions with her weaving. She'd spoil the baby hatchling rotten. And they would probably become inseparable. Perfect for her to eventually Class-change to Beastmaster and actually use the dragon in battle

2. They are taking care of a princess and get swarmed by a group of 7 bandits while fishing.

Kaelyn, who has the fishing profession, would keep fishing. She might punt a bandit in the water if he gets close enough to get hit by her repulsion spell.
If the bandits are actually a threat, Elyssia would mop the floor with them. Leoric might help, if she needs or ask for help. Vaelith would jump in with her force/telekinesis spells and help out, whether asked to help or not.
If the bandits aren't much of a threat, Elyssia would tell Leoric to deal with them, and she'd sit back and make sure the princess isn't hurt.

3. Your character finds out that their lover is a witch/wizard who works for the villain.

Really not applicable to my cast. Elyssia is the only one who is in a relationship with someone in the game.
If Kohana turns out to work for the bad guys of my story, then they'll probably have a chat after it's discovered.
It won't change of anything between them, though. The villain isn't very villainous in my story, that's not where the tension comes from.

4. They are stranded in a tundra and come across a fresh dead animal that can be eaten raw. But a man sized wolf with electric powers also wants the meat.

Well, they really don't need to eat the dead animal, since Vaelith can conjure food and water with ritual magic, so the team won't starve. I suppose they'd let the wolf alone, if all it wants is the meat.
But if the wolf aggroes them? Then Elyssia will be thrilled for a fun challenge (she might insist on soloing it, if the wolf isn't a raid boss), and Vaelith likely experiments and learns to cook ChargedWolf Steak that evening.

5. The Knights Council arrives at their doorstep and wants them to go on a quest.

Elyssia grimaces, Kaelyn continues whatever she was doing. Vaelith and Leoric collect the info about what the quest is about.
If there's a dungeon involved, Elyssia is in.
Kaelyn will follow where the group goes.
So chances are, they'll run the quest, unless it's some kind of unethical thing they're asked to do.
