Hello fellow writers and dreamers, I hope this post finds you well and in the throes of creativity. I wanted to take a moment to share a little bit about my journey as a writer here on this platform.

You see, I'm not an expert. I don't have a degree in creative writing, and I've never attended a writing workshop. I don't know all the rules of grammar, and sometimes I struggle to find the right words. But I write. I write because I have stories inside me that need to be told. I write because it's a way for me to make sense of the world around me. I write because it brings me joy.

I believe that at the heart of every writer is a storyteller. And every storyteller has a unique voice, a unique perspective, a unique story to tell. We don't need to be experts to share our stories. We just need to be brave enough to put our thoughts into words, to pour our hearts out onto the page.

Writing from the heart means being honest, being vulnerable. It means sharing a piece of yourself with your readers. It's not always easy, but it's always worth it. Because when you write from the heart, you connect with your readers on a deeper level. You make them feel something. And that, to me, is the true power of storytelling.

So, to all the writers out there who feel like they're not good enough, who feel like they don't know enough, remember this: You are enough. Your stories are enough. Write from the heart, and your words will resonate. They will touch people. They will make a difference.

I'd love to hear from you all. What inspires you to write? How do you overcome self-doubt? How do you keep your passion for writing alive?

Keep writing, keep dreaming, keep believing.

the desire to tell a story
How do you overcome self-doubt?
Skill, tenacity, the usual stuff
How do you keep your passion for writing alive?
My passion never dies because my passion is for writing in and of itself. I've no desire to make money or gain fame, simply to write and tell a story. So long as I can do that, I'm happy.

I just really enjoy writing. It's one of the few things in the world that brings me joy, and when I finish something I am proud of, it makes me happy. As someone who battles Major Depression, writing is something I can turn to that always gives me a boost. I don't really care if I am good at it.

Though, I do also hope that some day my story lifts someone who is hurting and takes them away from something horrible in their life, even if just for a little while. The authors I love have done that for me so many times, I can only hope to also do it for someone else.

Quite a bit inspires me to write. The Danganronpa franchise and the nerdcore songs based on it all encourage me to focus on powerful themes and certain lenses through which to view the world.
Also feeling a perpetual sense of isolation and a lack of trust for others makes it difficult to confide the nastiest, most foul emotions that run through my head. Putting that to paper, creating a colorful world to give other readers my pain, and have them enjoy it too, feels great. To put in less dramatic words: evil brain inspires good writing.
I also need to create a story I want to read when I don't have anything I want to read at the moment. It's a deep desire to make something I would love and look at with pride.

Aw that was lovely. :s_smile:

I write because I need to. If I don't, all the ideas in my head will either be forgotten or they'll stay in there doing nothing till I get them out somehow. Self-doubt isn't something I rarely pay attention to because I know what my strengths and weaknesses are and I don't see much point on lingering on it. I like to think I'm an entertainer; I act, I write and all that good stuff so my passion for writing comes out of wanting to entertain and basically either get people thinking or put a smile on their faces. I'd love to be able to write and act for a living as I swear down, that's what I'm here to do.

My one gripe is, I barely get any kind of feedback on my writing. Yes I know it all needs heavily editing, my grammar might not be the best and I have the tendency to exposition bomb a lot; but I don't know how my stories or characters are received so I have absolutely no idea what people like. :ROFLMAO: It bothers me slightly but I still write.

What inspires you to write?
Pain. Comfort leads to inactivity. Only by suffering and being consumed with guilt at not finishing what I started am I inspired.

How do you overcome self-doubt?
Never. Self-doubt forced me to constantly check and recheck myself, thus improving thefinal product. Self-doubt and its bigger older brother self-hatred are the best allies a writer could have.

A WRITER'S EARS ARE IN HIS BACK AND HE HEARS WHAT THE UNIVERSE HAS TO TELL HIM BEST WHEN HE IS BEATEN.

How do you keep your passion for writing alive?
Passion? I am driven to avoid agony, not seek passion. The more I write, the more I have something else to focus on besides how horrible a person I am.

I also write from the heart, though nowadays, I'm also mixing in theories and techniques since I want my novels to be readable to most people.

As for the feedbacks? I ignore them unless it's helpful for my plans/directions for the story. After all, I'm aware that everyone has their biases.

Some may ask, how do I write that many (I'm currently in 17th volume of my main novel)? Well, the key is focus and self-discipline. Writing is a hobby that won't write itself while I'm procrastinating, so if I can't write something, I wing it.

Finally, I want to write because I want to tell stories. Some did ask me why I suffer so much (thinking about consistencies, fixing grammar, and bringing out the best I can give), when it's just a 'webnovel'. For me, it's not just a 'webnovel'; it's something I'd like to leave as proof of my skills as a writer. Something that would make someone say, "Hans Trondheim? I love his stories."

I don't know if I'd say I share my heart with my readers.

But, after almost a year and 150 chapters, I write because I love that 20-30% of the time when words literally just flow out.

I don't know where those words even come from, sure I know the direction of the story and the purpose of the chapter, but sometimes it really is like the words appear almost like magic.

Then, when I'm lucky enough to have that happen for a longer stretch and then go to proof read the chapter, it's weirdly 'fresh'.

It's almost like I didn't write it... and that feeling always makes me shake my head and laugh.

Writing for me was to express my depression by releasing all the negativity inside me, before switching to wholesome vibes because all the negativity was gone and replaced by happiness. Yet, it all came crumbling down after money came around and trying my best to make as much money as I can.

But after cutting my porn and fruit addiction, I slowly lost my motivation to write. Though I still have ideas to continue writing until I get a good completed novel to post.
