Heh, would really love that if it's true. I'm not even offended.

Also, I used His Father and St. Peter in my work, so going back to the topic, I'd say it's fine using historical (and religious) characters in a work.
Isekai Putin is still one of my favorites.
Even though Putin isn't historic yet.
Everything that happened is already history, including the people involved.

The only things I would avoid are recent people and religious figures like Jesus but that's about it

It's more fun to do weird picks. In my first draft of redneck isekai, I had the inventor of pepsi as one of the previously isekai'd individuals. He was responsible for the modern navy of the country he ended up in...

and also introducing Pepsi to elves, dragons and ogres.

It’s all about what historical figures you use in writing. Look at Fate they don’t have John Wilkes Booth as an archer summon.
