Is it normal for readers to not favourite your chapter?

It's all true and I fucking hate myself for hating doing that. I don't mind others doing that, because I understand it and want to support them, but when it comes to me thinking if I should remind people at the end of the chappy to like or follow if they liked, dunno, I just feel like a shit tier author to do that. It might be weird coming from a marketing specialist, but when it's not about money and just my personal stuff, I just don't feel like using those principles. Dunno, maybe I've studied so many areas of e-advertising and the psychological aspects of it that I don't feel right using them for my own gain.

Don't get me wrong tho, if it were my life sustenance or job-related or whatever, I ain't gonna have any second thoughts. I've studied that shit for a reason.

I get it. My Bachelor's is in Business Management and I had to take a few marketing/PR and HR courses for it. I learned a ton of stuff that's extremely useful when it comes to marketing yourself, making yourself look good, and so on, but I still feel guilty whenever I do it since I'd really rather not have to try and min-max the marketing side of things just so that I can survive and not end up homeless. So it technically is job-related for me and my life sustenance depends on it, but I still feel guilty about it = P. But if you want success, whether as a hobby or a career, it's something that's too important to not do.

Favouriting by readers shows the numbers of your loyal readers. Those are the readers that matters at the end of the day.

I don't really know if there is any mechanical purpose to favoriting chapters, like if it feeds the algorithm or whatever but i like encouraging authors and show that my appreciation in any way i can so i always favorite chapters and leave comments :D

Well, I myself do get a few favorite on my chapters, so cool? I guess?

I don't favorite my own chapters, but i don't think there is anything specifically wrong with it.

Plus, most people tend to just read through the chapter, and if they like the story, they stick with it.

They either forget to favorite a chapter, or can't be bothered to. It isn't really a problem whether someone favorites your chapter or not, in my opinion.

Don't be discourage Drakonus_

Just write with your own heart. Everyone starts at nothing, except if you are a son/daughter of a rich family.

There is already a novel rating, I simply see no reason to favourite more than a select few chapters, if any, that I see as a real highlight within that novel.
In my eyes, favouriting every chapter just because you like the novel is hardly different from giving a novel five stars because you think another novel from the author was good.
