A sergeant and his squad tried to hurry their way out of the subway station as a growing cluster of dead began to follow them. There were too many zoms to fight off and mow down. Meshed among the fucking cluster of slow-walking, long dead ones were the freshly new ones too, and those were capable of make a quick dash at them as soon as they have a solid sight of their target.
They were less than a 100 yards away, but some of them were already beginning to run...
His squad was near exhausted. Worse yet, he was heavily injured with his leg. He might not even make it through. So with a solemn look and nod to his team, he ordered him to leave him behind. Reluctantly, they departed and made their way up the stairs.
He pulled a grenade and threw at the mass of the undead and smiled. Time to die those motherfuckers.
The ceiling of the subway station tunnel began to cave and collapse.
His last thoughts before everything went black was that he hoped his team made it to safety...

He thought he was dead, but after an unknown long period of time, he wakes up. He limps and makes it to the ticket office station above, where a phone call rings.
Its his team.
