The reason why I'm making this thread is because Envy confessed she doesn't know Arthas Menethil, his story. There is nothing wrong with not knowing this or that character. Some of us don't like certain genres, some don't have time, some missed this or that game or game series. So I thought it is a fun idea to give short(or long) summaries of different iconic characters that we missed.

The only request I have to you all, is to not stretch the defintion of iconic. As musch as I like Coltrane "Trane" Crowley from Marc Ecko's Getting up, or At-Zako from Evil Islands, they are not iconic at all.

The original prince from the Prince of Persia trilogy from the mid2000s (Sands of Time, Warrior Within, Two Thrones).

Loved how his character changed from an actual young prince who went through a lot in the first game, then grew into a cursed ruler who was fighting his fate in the second game and then finally ending his story arc in the third game, completing the circle with reuniting with the love interest from the first game.

I miss competent and interesting characters who, if you didn't even know a lot about them and their backgrounds, still made it possible to like them and care for them.

Instead of Arthas, I will write about Kain. He is the title character of a game series Legacy of Kain. Once a noble, he was killed and turned into a vampire. In his quest for revenge he got tangled up with guardians of the world, and learned that he is the guardian of balance. However, since he was corrupted way before turning into vampire, instead of sacrificing himself to heal the world, he embraced his newfound vampire nature.

And while he was rush and hot-blooded in the beginning of his journey, the more he aged the more crafty and cynical he became. And by the end, he manages to save his world, albeit without sacrificing himself.

Aye, nobody mentioned Master Chief yet. I might as well.

For those that don't know, he was the protagonist of 3 Halo games. He shoots aliens. He blows things up, and sometimes he falls from space.

He is a stoic dude. His most memorable quotes are always short one-liners like "I need a weapon."

The series is mostly an action shooter where you blast aliens, but hey, there's actually a good story there.

There are even other iconic characters in the same series like sergeant Johnson or Arbiter.

For another iconic character from a different franchise, there is Doom Guy. He's also a stoic man, but instead of taking his anger out on covenant or flood, this guy opened a literal gate of hell and started blasting demons to smithereens.

It's too bad master chief will be made bad now.

I think the most iconic video game character is Mario and then everyone else.
Sonic was iconic in the 90's.

Ryu from Street Fighter is iconic.
I'd also say Mega Man.

Anyway, the full name of the iconic protagonist in GTA: San Andreas, the black dude in a wifebeater, is Carl Johnson, CJ for short.
I can't really say much aside from don't be this guy.
When I was younger, it took me a while to realize that there are actually mission on the game, I just blow up ton of sht when I play GTA.

Let me get you one of the most mysterious entities among FPS gamers.

Donned in a blue suit, blue tie, and brown shoes. Green eyes and brown hair complete its cunning look. A briefcase, with a handful of things and a handgun, was carried everywhere.

It only observes several Persons of Interest and approaches when making an offer. And it too was the one who orchestrated the famous failed experiment of Black Mesa, leading the Earth to a dystopian enslaved future.

It can stop time, skip time, rewind, and trap people in its pocket dimension. The entity utilizes its abilities to complete its clients' requests to employ any living beings. The entity itself has no employee working for him, as it is only a middleman.

Every question regarding it was met with nothing: no answers, clues, solid theories, or even a hint.

The entity has existed for over 16 years, but its secret is still left unrevealed.

The one renowned Inter-Dimensional Bureaucrat, The G-Man.
