Longer character limit for profile posts.

420 characters is not long enough imo. Profile posts are already mostly hidden only giving a few lines before you need to click to expand, forgetting actual term. A longer character limit, if it is possible to implement, shouldn’t hurt anything and would make comments less cluttered since when people have a long post they won’t need to break it up into multiple posts. Assuming we wish to keep it, a 1000 character limit would be a massive improvement even just upping it up to 500 would make posting easier imo.

I was going to say I foresee a problem with huge blocks of texts covering up profile posts, but people already spam massive images all the time. So I say let Elijah cook.

Elijah is right. Let's make life easier for those people who only post on their profiles, not that I can relate to their struggle.

This will probably not be implemented due to how forums work. That field is this small by design and would require a lot of work from Tony, especially if it had to persist through possible forum software updates.

Would be nice to have, tho.

I like that you posted about this. Its not just here, but other places limit what you can write in contact us pages also. And that makes people 'less educated' because you can't go into details on why you are contacting the.... because not enough space.
