Befriend the hokage. Try befriending the class prodigy. Go befriend anyone who is not a mook and who shows any ability whats-over.
Why should you do that. Well of course cause if they become successful you can use nepotism.
Naruto is actually a tale about nepotism and how befriending right people can be life changing. Every single hokage is related to some other hokage.
Either they are someone's son or disciple.
This is beautfully potrayed by how hard work hardly works in naruto. The prime example are the thousand of jounin. They are thousands of them . It's not that only main cast works.

So he thought i would see how far i can push it at the end he can always beg for forgiveness.

Most people get a redemption arc before there death or just as they are dying.
but because orichamaru was a respectable genius he made himself irreplaceable and look at him now.
My man literally got resurrected to get a redemption arc.
Even if he died in action he know as long he is irreplaceable he would get resurrected and then just join the other side.
look at pain he got redemption but he did not get resurrection.

Cause he wasn't irreplaceable .
Look at sakura even though she did not become a god because she did not have natural intuition and the right genes. (uchina contact lenses and harisharama buttplugs)
She did nepotism right played her cards right. Became tsuanade's disciple befriended naruto and married in a higher social status (sasuke. She was at it from the starting too)
If rock lee did this much nepotism he would have gone to greater heights. Though to be fair he did not have other people he could train under.

Befriend people who you have no prior connections with and who you don't share a friend with because these people are most likely to be diffirent from you and see opportunities which you can't see. Also they are likely to have different friend circles so they can have diffirent connections and you can trade favours.
If you can get letter of recommendation then get it. It costs nothing to ask and it doesn't actually has to mean anything as long as it makes you look diffirent from all the other candiates it's good. No will care enough to research who you got the letter from.
Seriously go befriend diffirent people it's very useful . An extroverted guy who tells you which plot of land is going to be popular can make lot of difference.
Look at naruto he befriends everyone he sees from different walks of life without a care about there personality or common interests. You don't have to be good friends just good enough.
All villains have small groups and work alone.
