Matchmaking RP - Interest Thread

Background:
Every universe has a strange little shrine dedicated to the God of Matchmaking. If you leave an offering and make a prayer, the rumor is that you'll have a dream that crosses time and space — you'll get a special "date" with a stranger from another world. Is it even real? Just a midsummer night dream...?

Basically, this is a shipping roleplay. You make characters (note: it's not real and only fictional) and have them go on dates with each other. The "dates" occur in a dreamscape designed by a third person. Please keep everything SFW.

Please note that the "dates" don't have to be romantic. They can be "friend" dates or other kinds of 1-on-1 roleplay.

How To Play:

1. Register a character
2. Find someone else who is willing to RP with you
3. Find a different person to make up a plot for your date (i.e. "Zombies are attacking your spaceship")

Rules:

• General:
  • Follow ScribbleHub rules

  • You can make as many characters as you want
  • Your character(s) can be any species, any gender, anything, etc.
  • Don't name your character after yourself (...that's super weird...)
  • Don't make your character too OP
• Finding a partner:
  • This is not real — all of this is for fun and purely fiction/writing
  • People can refuse to RP for any reason; don't take it personally
  • Don't harass people
  • Please discuss your expectations and boundaries in advance
• Making up a plot:
  • Find someone else to make up a plot/setting for the date. If you can't find someone, you can ask @minacia
  • It's a good idea to make up something vaguely interesting... examples are like volcano eruption

  • Roleplaying should be SFW. No NSFW allowed!

Example registration:

Barivos Thinshaulk / 24 / Male
Appearance:
Human, russet-haired with red eyes. His skin color is slightly grayish, almost like he is covered with ash. He is taller than average but his build is generally unremarkable. He dresses plainly (rustic) with a simple waterproof cloak and carries a light spear that can function as a javelin. He seems to have the physique of an average soldier.

Backstory:
Barivos is an ex-adventurer. He used to be a mercenary and was part of a team of dungeon divers but... he got tired of it. Honestly, he made enough money to be satisfied and decided to retire, mainly because it was so dangerous. Currently, he is employed as a guardsman on a frontier village, but his life is boring. Occasionally, he joins the rangers on patrols (fighting goblins and other weak monsters), but generally speaking he just guards a village gate.

Despite his plain background, Barivos actually grew up in a big city from a middle-class family. When he was young teenager, his elder sister was kidnapped by bandits, and he naively chased after them to another continent thinking that he would be able to rescue her. He failed to save his sister (she died), and instead Barivos was stuck in a foreign country as an illegal immigrant without a single penny to his name. Desperate to make cash, he became an adventurer and eventually made enough money to buy himself citizenship.

While it sounds like a dark story, Barivos is a forward-thinking person. He's mostly just tired of living in a tiny village, and amuses himself by visiting the local shrine to see if there's anyone interesting to talk to. He has an ex-girlfriend who he absolutely abhors (it was a terrible relationship), and has since convinced himself that he'll never date a woman again.

Abilities/Skills:
- Skilled with the spear.
- Some weak ability to magically control the path of a thrown javelin / give it extra force.

Likes/Dislikes:
- Enjoys direct banter and interesting conversation
- Enjoys learning about other people's secrets
- Fond of casual flings and physical relationships (with men only)
- Hates women (but not actually)
- Hates small talk

- Just looking to hang out

What are some plots / ideas that you're interested in?
- Would be fun to match him with a girl who figures out how to change his opinion about women

- Open to BG rp's too (although you'll have to accept him hating women at first)

- Nothing more than hand-holding during RP (although I'm fine with more as long as it's off screen)

Example Plot:

Coffee Date on an Alien Battlecruiser

Description:
(A) and (B) find themselves getting coffee on a space liner (erm... battlecruiser) with a pretty view of outer space. Suddenly, a massive fleet of space ships appear out of slip space and go pew-pew-pew! Suddenly an enormous space battle breaks out. The ship is under attack and aliens are boarding the ship! (A) and (B) must find their way to an escape pod so they can eject to safety.

Scenario Rules:

• There are endless amounts of aliens. Adjust the difficulty so that's it's challenging for (A) and (B) to make it through the battlecruiser.
• Don't hack the dream (i.e. the characters can't control the dream to cause weird stuff to happen)

Winning Conditions:

• Get to an escape pod
• OR if it feels like the problem was resolved

Faris Crimsol / 19 / Female
Appearance:
Human (alternative universe version). Humans from Faris's universe are herbivores and don't eat meat, and instead mainly eat fruits, nuts, and other foods. Like other humans from her world, Faris is relatively short. She has long green hair and lavender eyes.

Backstory:
Faris's father is the chieftan of her village. She is eventually supposed to get an arranged political marriage, but she isn't particularly excited about the fact that she'll have to marry a boring vegetable prince chieftan. Lately, she has been visiting the Matchmaking Shrine to escape from the prospect that one day she'll have to get married to a stranger. For now, she just wants to experience something, you know?

Abilities/Skills:
- Plant magic: Can make plants move and stuff

Likes/Dislikes:
- Hearing about strange things and strange stories from other worlds
- Anything remotely interesting
- Thinks that eating meat is extremely grotesque but weirdly fascinating (kind of like cannibalism)

- It would be fun to write some kind of accidental situation

Rayden / 19 / Male
Appearance:
Cat-Youkai(Half). Rayden has a hight oh 5ft 10inches with black hair, ears and tail. He has captivating blue eyes, a handsome face and beautiful pale skin.

Backstory:
Rayden was born between the love of an wealthy Icelandic businessman and a Japanese youkai. They're both very supportive of him but they sometimes go to far in trying to coddle him. He often grew up looking at his parents flirting behavior but never really understood why they did that. Curious about love he decided to visit the matchmaking shrine.

Abilities/Skills:
