Finally a new glossary! The old glossary feature was lacking too much. You are now able to...
  1. Create custom categories
  2. Sort the categories order
  3. Add images, bold/italicized/underline etc etc text
glossary.png

Also, I didn't make an announcement for this and it's somewhat old but...
  1. Ko-fi was added as a tip option.
  2. Your tip options are also displayed at the end of each of your chapters to get more exposure.
  3. Sort chapters by ascending/descending order.
  4. Lots of annoying bug fixes!!!
  5. There was more but I don't remember them at the moment :blob_teary:
If you find any bugs related to the new glossary, please report it in this thread and I'll fix it ASAP.

On an ending note, I would like to thank everyone for joining! Even though the forum isn't active, the main site has been growing well! The forum being inactive isn't a worry at all for me. As long as the main site is big, the forum will be fine. I'll also advertise the forums from the main site more when I feel like it's ready to be advertised.

Another big thanks to everyone that advertised https://www.scribblehub.com/ on other sites. I'm referring to authors from other platforms giving a shoutout to https://www.scribblehub.com/ or you just telling someone "Have you heard of Scribble Hub?". It means a lot and hopefully I can do something to pay you back one day :blob_okay:

Well that's it, I guess? I'll go back to fixing minor bugs for a few days then I'll go take a look at https://forum.scribblehub.com/forums/suggestions-bug-reports.5/ for ideas for the next feature. Even though I don't often reply there, I've read everything. So if you have an idea to help improve the site, please suggest it!

It looks all good, other than the fact I almost couldn't find the add new category option.
But it's just there with 'Category'

Thanks for testing it out! Yeah, the adding new category link is somewhat hidden. I had to move things around so it wouldn't look like a mess :sweating_profusely:.

I just realized its not really hidden if I use it the default theme. It's only hard to notice on the Dark Theme

I've thought that you can maybe add a option to set the glossary as after chapter X, and be prompted a spoiler warning, if you haven't bookmarked that chapter or the ones afterwards.

To go along with it, you could keep track of the versions, so if the glossary was remade every 10 chapters, you'd be able to read the old versions and avoid spoilers.

I would actually like to see this in action, anyone knows any novel where glossary is being used?

My story, Astral Connections, uses it if you want to check it out.
Neat. The feature feels super linear tho. I think having it have a tree like branching format would work better

My only suggestion would be to add category within category.

Oh yes! Thank you very much, @Tony !This is certainly better than the previous popup type. Ai-chan lost an entire entry when that popup thing disappeared.

For those wondering, Ai-chan's glossary is here https://www.scribblehub.com/series/1792/seven-years-of-hope/glossary .

Are we limited to 1 category? I want to divide things by volume without spoiling things of future volumes. So I want to put characters that exist in multiple volumes into each volume

Also, how do I delete categories I accidentally created and dont plan on using?

You can have as many categories as you wish. You can delete your categories as shown in the pic below:

687

You have to click on "Add New Item" first for that picture to show.

Thanks, but what about having 1 item in multiple categories?

Also, all my categories are now gone, they show up in display order but not in the dropdown :/

Which categories are missing? I still see it.

"Volume 1 Characters" x2 and "Volume 2 Characters". Along with the other default categories.

It looks like there's an error somewhere on your side. I just checked and it's still all there. Which browser are you using? Do you know how to check for console errors for your browser? If you do, can you post it here? If not, which browser are you using and I'll post instructions.

Thanks!

I'm using Chromium 72.

When I click it all I see is a warning of:

(index):1 [Violation] Added non-passive event listener to a scroll-blocking 'mousewheel' event. Consider marking event handler as 'passive' to make the page more responsive. See https://www.chromestatus.com/feature/5745543795965952

Edit: I also checked FireFox 65 and it doesn't load either.

I've tried on both Firefox and Chrome and both are working on my side. Maybe a plugin is blocking the JS file from loading or the JS file didn't get to load completely?

In the case of FireFox, I have no addons. And the network tab doesn't show anything failing to load... weird : /

I also tried virtualizing windows in virtualbox (just in case) and chrome 65, same issue : /
