Before I finish the video, I want to share my answer to questions you raise in the beginning. Just be a professional. One thing is to not be a fan, the other is to avoid original, despise it, and\or use the thing you adapt as your platform to preach your agenda. I even have an example of people keeping it professional. Riddick game, butcher bay. Starbreeze studios were not fans, but they made a good game because they are professionals. I think nowadays a lot of 'pros' who actually get paid to do adaptation lack a simple quality, professionalism.

Obviously it's not a real adivce or solution, but more of a generalized take. Still, I wanted to share my thoughts.

I agree! Far too many people nowadays don't understand what it means to be a professional.

Agree. Butcher Bay was such a sick game that respected the source material.

Most of these leeches don't actually care about the franchise. These parasites leech from the IP so they get guaranteed views. They just write the shallowest connection to the original IP and sneakily write their own movie/show.

Leeches summarize how I view those who don't try the stuff I mention as big time. It bugs me so much, especially whenever they inevitably fail and don't take responsibility. Which I feel sums up why they don't deserve the power over things at all. Power is responsibility and it means taking the blows when something does fail. People who can't take the sting of a L don't deserve the glory of a win.

Now if only the production companies would follow this advice...
Its part of why my childhood dream was to create a media empire where I could manage adaptations (both of my own work and others), including games, books, comics, everything... Anyone got a few mil laying around and willing to build this? :s_tongue:

I KNEW IT! I FUCKING KNEW IT! THEY FUCKED UP LIKE A DRAGON AS I SUSPECTED THEY WOULD! IT FEATURES THE VERY ISSUES I WORRIED ABOUT!

FUCK!

I was so angry that I channeled my recent work at improving my thumbnail skills into making the video's new thumbnail.
