One Patreon or two?

I have a Patreon and just gained enlightenment for a pretty sick fanfic idea, my first novel is original and I will continue it. Should I open a second one or upload on first? Or should I make a separate tier that only gets access to the new novel and a tier that accesses both? Hassle isn't a factor in my consideration.

I use only one.

I would find it scummy otherwise. I don't even create diff tiers for diff books.
my worry with single tier is that some might like one book and have no interest in another, I'm losing them with that since the price will be higher.

My approach is to go for the wider audience.

I have three fixed tiers, and that's it. They give the same perks for my books. Even if someone is interested in one book and signs up, they also get the advanced chapters for the other book. I am not going to rip off my loyal readers who are reading my works, and it also makes it easier for new readers to get familiar with my other series.

That way, they can keep their subscription even if one book ends, knowing the benefits are universal throughout my works.

Don't see why you would need a second Patreon. Just create different tiers for the different novels. You can have tiers that include both but are more expensive as well. Personally, I don't like it when there are only bundle tiers available that are more expensive since I might not care for a certain work.

And generally I'm with @Corty. Just release your current novels with the pre-existing tiers and keep the same price. If you're dead set on it being a standalone product, which I get as well, a single Patreon makes sense over multiple.

How to get paid?.
You open a Patreon and link the patreon in each chapter. I create an Author's Note section within the chapter and design it with different colored text etc. You have to have future chapters already available on Patreon and make tiers for them. For example, 3$ for 10 chapters, 4$ for 15 chapters, 5$ for 20 chapters, etc, you can arrange the tiers however it fits your schedule. Then with consistency and an alright-good novel, you should start making some money.

But where do you make those link? Like download it on google as PDF?, or there is a different website altogether?.

The link is the link to your Patreon, you upload the advanced chapter directly to the Patreon as text or you can also put Google Doc links. Both methods are used by authors.

Thanks, I also want to ask one thing, where do you upload your novel except scrible hub?

You want to make money off a fanfic? Did you get the permission from the original author for it? If it is something like the Star Wars gigs some authors still get, I wish you luck. But if you don't have permission for it, it is stealing.

Is it? I genuinely don't know. There are tons of authors out there making money with fanfics on Patreon, I doubt they asked for permission btw I'm asking legally not morally or ethically.

Yeah, but you didn't answer my question. I'm asking if it's illegal or just immoral. If it's illegal I will make the worlds MC hops originals.
It is illegal.

Is it enforced? Not always.

Still, you open yourself up for liabilities in the future. Especially if you start making bank with it. That could easily land you with a cease and desist order or a lawsuit if the IP holder is litigious enough.

It is up to you to decide what to do. Personally, because I focus on my original stories and write fanfic for fun, it isn't part of my Patreon at all and never will be. I am not going to even dip my pinky into something that could give me a headache years later.

I understand, thank you for your replies. I will make original worlds with inspired ideas, so fanfic-ish. I want it to still have that fanfic vibe.

Say someone who was a famous author. But you are cool with you consistency.

By the way corty how do you create your own discord group? Did you just create it without having to busy yourself with it? .
