MENU SCREEN

As soon as I finished Persona 1—I took a light rest, a warm bath, and a delightful meal! In response to my thrill, it's really on 100% as this game has kept my grand expectation—granted! Anyway, I am finally ready to start the game, but on the difficulty of HARD—yes, there is no EXTREME or EXPERT here, it is just HARD... which is maybe hard? I don't know if it has the same difficulty as EXPERT. Nevertheless, it's a trivial worry to be wary of the future. It might also be that the HARD difficulty has the same difficulty as Ys: Oath in Felghana lmao... which would be disastrous in terms of playtime.

The original and remade intro was pretty good, but it didn't have the same expression as the P1 intro. Also... why is Hitler wearing sunglasses? Fftttt, that shits ridiculous—they've outdone themselves. The butterfly in the intro is back too—wait, isn't that the same butterfly from P4? Oh, it's because the chosen characters that can wield persona met a golden butterfly before getting one.

One important feature—we can change difficulty any time in the game! In my case, this is called DIFFICULTY MANIPULATION, but it is definitely cheating to change it halfway through the game and I don't want to do that!

Thanks to @BlissyMKW for advice and tips! I am definitely ready to journey on a one-way road to victory! (as because there isn't any multiple ending for this one.)
Seeing as you're playing the PSP version, let me just say...Fusion Spells. They break the game. Use them all the time. This game at least gives you a tutorial on contacts, so do it because you get a couple of Tower cards for free. Yes, you need to collect tarot cards from contacting demons for fusion this time. Otherwise, the PSP version has a track record for being easier than the PS1 version, but it's the only officially localized version we got internationally so...yeah.

I don't remember any jerkish parts with this game except for one. Let your party handle their own problems when prompted except Yukino. Do not pick a certain option or else bad things happen and no Durga. I won't say what it is because it's a plot spoiler, but just be wary when the choice comes up.

SLOT MACHINE - LUCK

I FINALLY FUCKING DID IT! YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! It is basically harder to get 100,000 coins than 50,000 because you have to do Frame Extend 7x before it turns into 100,000 coins... but you also have to worry about Frame Default (all your progress is wiped out) and ? Appearance (if you get the appearance, your progress is wiped out).

Fuck Persona 2... gambling is my life now.

it is just HARD... which is maybe hard
If I've heard right, all Hard mode does is give bosses more HP, but because fusion spells are so powerful, it hardly matter much except increasing the time boss fights take. I don't know for sure since I've only ever played Innocent Sin on Normal.

Fusion spells are really OP right now. All bosses hit me for like 30 damage and they get damaged for 150-250. Although, I think it is because I've been grinding a lot. I also have one fool card which is pretty nice! Contacting demons for fool cards is pretty rare, but it is an accomplishment to have one.

Ah, I actually played Crossbell's casino and lost A LOT... after that, I just stopped and decided to do side and main quests. But seriously, talking about Crossbell makes me remember Arianrhod and Trails to Azure's second boss + final boss without any savepoint... they traumatized me. I remember in Falcom Discord, we were in VC watching someone live fighting the Trails to Azure's final boss.

I miss those days.

[HARD]

AOBA PARK

Prince Taurus isn't a bad opponent, but definitely repeats a fire weakness—oh boy, they really love fire weaknesses. Well, it matters not. Spamming fire fusion spells (Towering Inferno, Blazing Burst, Flame Cut EX, and etc...) and automatically replaying does the deal for this one. I didn't even need to heal myself and my team, it was just a matter of who's going down first. After this was searching for a riddle with a time limit, to be honest, that reminds me of the three towers.

Elly referencing the main character from Persona 1 made me smile and knowing all of them have grown up believing in themselves and their future... makes me sigh and think that it really has been so long. Her last line is cut, which is to either mystify their relationship. However, there is already Maki in his heart—I am sure of it.

Smile Hirasaka

The Ixquic and Belphegor fight was pretty fine, it wasn't difficult either. BORING! But hey, at least I get to pummel them to death. For this one, I just spammed different fusion spells and they disappeared out of my sight. After this, the Smile Hirasaka search was finished! Before this, you'll control Tatsuya alone and you have to find your party members so that they can join you. The monsters that I encountered weren't anything to worry about, so I survived the ordeal. On to the next one!

Aerospace Museum

King Leo is a different type of boss. His weakness is water, and he wields a katana the wrong way like an F-rated fencer. And hey, that took it for me so I immediately made him go to heaven with the strongest water fusion spell. Then again, there was no saving him—he deserves it either way.

The Aerospace Museum is another place with a time limit and that you have to find a lot of kids. I know this is supposed to be a work for child predators, but I took it upon myself to be one, but the good one. Anyway, finding all elementary eager learners is a lot easier because the time limit is 10 minutes which is pretty long. I finished the hunt for 4 minutes and decided to immediately fight King Leo instead of wasting time grinding because I am confident enough on my fusion spells.

Mt. Iwato

This is the place where the shocking truth is revealed. If you went and chose the right choices, your starting persona will evolve into ultimate personas after finding four masks belonging to certain kids. After this, Shadow Maya comes at you... or rather was with you the whole time because Maya wasn't.

So, Shadow Maya is the same as always—easy as the monsters I encountered along the way. Pull all your fusion spells because I don't know the weakness for this one. No need to heal because real men don't do that in boss battles—I tiny bit of heals is actually fine. Despite having an easier boss, the dungeon here has traps... not traps, traps!

These are all bosses I encountered along the way. I am actually near the next boss battle, but I decided I'll do my stuff first. Nevertheless, I'll share this cultured answer for anybody who's following along this thread.

And this is the biggest reason why I think this game is easy. Innocent Sin has this bad habit of putting you into 5v1 boss scenarios where you have the overwhelming advantage not just due to numbers, but the sheer brokenness of fusion spells.

Caracol Entrance

Continuing on The Journey—ahem, wrong game. Yukino has anger issues... seriously, like when the trash can she was examining blew out of nowhere... she was mad as hell. In any case, we will fight these Longinus by spamming a lot of fusion spells. After this and the Caracol's event, Yukino will be replaced by a certain character! Bye-bye, Yukino-san.

Caracol

Why is a Hitler-wearing-sunglasses in this game...? Hmm... well, anyway, as you can see... there is some shadow type of the main characters just like Persona 4 Arena. The dungeon isn't that confusing, you'll get on the last part easily than you would expect.

Leo Temple

I wouldn't be sharing the three other tower bosses because they aren't anything hard. There are certain orders when going in the towers just like the SQQ P1 towers. If you don't start with the right tower, the other tower's dungeons will change. In bosses, you have to equip your Ultimate Personas in order to remove their weaknesses. After all of this, you'll head unto the last dungeon—fight another Longinus and an interesting character...

Muluk' Hall

This is actually pretty funny! But this boss ain't... this time for the first time had they actually introduced a boss that could prove difficult unless you have Armageddon. Metal Daddy can one-hit your character and most definitely kick your ass even if you're in front of him. Then again, spam fusion spells, and bam! Congratulations, you did it~! Anyway, after this, you'll fight Bolontikus which are so hard to defeat unless you have Armageddon and strong fusion spells.

And yet... I didn't. I had the basic fusion spells that basically had no damage and took a lot of SPs and turns. What made me defeat them was not doing fusion spells and spamming the strongest magic and weapon skills I had.

Heart of Xibalba

Ah yes, Hitler—the final boss. Hitler definitely gives a little challenge because he has a lot of hitpoints and can one-hit your characters if you aren't careful. Of course, the final boss can be one-hit by Armageddon which is ridiculous. And so, because I didn't have the strongest fusion spells due to using the wrong personas, I decided to use spells only and defeated the first form with most of my characters nearly dying.

For the second form, I did the same. But for this one, I had to use Reviving and SP items while having one character heal all the time! The second form has more hitpoints, hit models, and attacks. However, using all-foes spells can make the boss battle easier—so I never lost nor had to complain... wait, I had something to complain about. THIS GAME IS TOO EASY!

Persona 2 has definitely taken a nose-dive when it came to the difficulty, however, the story still tells a good tale like Persona 1. It didn't have multiple endings, but those were replaced with choices leading to consequences and getting ultimate personas. Just like how Valkyria Chronicles 3, Ys: Oath of Felghana, and Bravely Default proved to be so hard... harder than the rest of the series! There also came a time where after that were sequels that were so easy. Then again, I had fun playing them!

The game had different exploits that I've passed by. Mu Casino's slot machines are easier to gain a lot of coins—especially when you buy Desperate Measures or Weapons and Armors to sell them for three million. The Fusion Spell feature is broken and decreases the difficulty of the game. I know that the feature is pretty nice, but they should've nerfed it a little bit. The Contact feature has so many options, yet some are pretty useless and only some of their works for certain monsters... especially for the Duo or Triple Contact which are pointless. And lastly, you don't need to grind... yes, JRPG is known for strategic combat, good stories (some are shit), (hard or fluffy) grinding... and entertainment such as gambling or fishing. (I am looking at you Trails to Zero/Azure and of Cold Steel... of course, the Trails in the Sky III minigame too!)

In any case, this game deserves a B+! B for Bery Good... lmao.

Now then, let me finish this thread... this thread has been finished by HandsomeProtagonist... THE ANSWER is my next thread!

The very first Persona Game I've ever played was FES. I've done Royal and Golden, and am eager to try out the ones before 3.

I also occasionally play Portable on my phone using an emulator, so I was gonna try to do the same for 2.

Quite the opposite for me. I first played P3 Portable and have never played Royal and Golden (never finished). I've been focusing more on visual novels and the Shin Megami Tensei series.
