Doesn't that sound like real life, you have a crush on someone, then some random guy/girl you don't know got in a relationship with him/her, and in an important event it didn't involved you cause you were anxious or it wasn't your own business to care/you're not charming enough.

everyones the hero of their own tale, kid. I'd just move on, i have other options. As for the random dude, it depends on his attitude. If he was sincere and decent, no harm no foul. If he's a cunt, i'm gonna have to fuck his mother. I've only ever had to do that, like, once, but still. Some people just gotta stay humble, and sometimes it falls upon this Venerable to do so himself

Judging by how you said 'potential' I guess that me and the heroines' aren't that close, so it won't be too hard getting over them liking this random guy.
Now the real question is...
Am I some canon fanfic mc? Am I living in a fantasy world? Or am I living in a world similar to ours? And if so, will this guy have some hate-boner for me to the point where he goes out of his way to humiliate me every time we meet and make my life a living hell?
Or will he be a decent person at the very least?
If he's after me for no reason then I gotta retaliate in whatever way I can.
But if he's not after me to ruin my life, then I'd just suck it up and move on. No skin off my back. Plenty of opportunities to get and gals' to meet.
