Writing Smut scenes in an otherwise normal story

Yup, my thoughts as well.

Also, someone would need to be either intellectually challenged or particularly unable to read the mood to not realize there's a sex scene brewing (alternatively so immature to not be aware what's happening, but we leave those cases aside). Unless it's done really badly, most people should see there's going to be a sex scene before it actually happens, and doing it without any indication would be author's fault. I trust you're not doing that.
