How about ask ChatGPT if you want it free. If not, pay someone to do it. It's not free.

Also, continuing a person’s work without their permission violates laws. You always need to have permission to access another author’s work.

The only exception is like 70 or 80 years after their death. That or if you live in one of those places that don’t respect copyright law, wouldn’t stop from action being taken though.

Either way, it is the author’s choice to decide whether or not they want to delete the story, and that is that.

As for why they’d delete it, a number of reasons really.

1. Life.

2. Stress.

3. Reception, could be the community.

4. Got a deal for it, so they removed it.

5. Took it down to redo the story.

6. Bored.

7. Done with the platform.

Etc.

Maybe you're misunderstanding something. Practically every works in SH are original works.

This is not an aggregator site or translation site.

You can't just say "don't delete your story if you don't want to continue anymore, what if someone comes up to pick and continue it?"

It doesn't work that way.

not the way SH's sister site Novel Updates works. like @laumy said, this isn't an aggregator or a fan translation portal (like Novel Updates) so don't expect for a story to remain exist

Also also Everyone I did think That I could make a Website that we can use to make it easier posting our stories to other Sites like it is able to save all the Bold and I things, and also there can be Favorite categorys that people can put links to there favorite, so we can find more stories we like, Just a Idea I wanted to say.
What so you all think?

I see, But people Can Make Fan verions of the owners's sories.
That gets a bit iffy. It's generally a rule of thumb to ask if you want to write with someone's character or in their world. We work hard for little to no pay to make these stories, so to have someone come along and just "steal" anything (characters, world, events, etc) can get a bit irritating. If you want, you could ask them if you can continue it. Or ask if you could find someone else to continue it. But 1, be aware that they're within their rights to ignore you or say no. And 2, if you do ask someone else to continue it, they may ask for payment.

In regards to 2, I do write paid stories, but most of my works are entirely free, because I genuinely enjoy it. a lot of small authors do this.

There are also exceptions for parodies, derivative works (i.e. Fan Fiction) and "fair use" things - but that opens a morass that could end The Neverending Story...

Yeah, parodies are also a grey line though. No guarantee you’d be safe. However, it is an exception depending. In short, it depends on the law of the place.

I end stuff for three reasons.
A. it's unpopular. Not every story idea works, or if the idea works, it's the wrong time for it to be popular. If I don't get positive feedback on a story, I won't waste my time on it after the first 400 or so pages.
B. I get too much flack. I write stuff that offends people pretty frequently. I've been attacked by wokes, far-rights, and libertarians for the SAME CHAPTER. If I get too much crap for a villain that's, for example, a gun-toting gay libertarian pedophile that likes to quote revelations, well, I will wait around a while for the fad to die down. It's happened before. Ideology fads come and go.
C. I put stuff on KU. I love Kindle Unlimited, it kept me engaged while I was dying in the hospital for six months from heart problems. It's access control is... tricky, and it means pulling stuff from several websites, but unless people start throwing money at my Paypal account, I need it to pay for rent and medicine :)

Option B has only been done by Velma last I checked. How did you manage to do that? :blob_hmm_two:

One thing I've learned is that sometimes what you started doesn't represent you in the future. And when that moment comes, you may feel ashamed to look back. If the author wrote something that he or she isn't proud of, they may decide to erase it so as not to remember the past
