So recently Ai-chan came across some people who keep misunderstanding about how they acquire copyright. So that got Ai-chan thinking. Does scribblehub has the option to hide their stories @Tony ?

Basically, the author would write their stories, mark it as hidden, and even after publishing it, it will not appear in the list and can't be searched or scraped. This helps when you want to provide evidence for copyright suits. It could be that the site the author posts on has some sketchy practice and they want to fight this site, and when they want to register their work or send a DMCA report, they can just unhide this story for evidence such as publication time and date.

Alternatively, the author can assign some users to have access to the stories, such as for editing and the like.

As to why they would want to hide instead of share their stories from the get go, there may be several reasons, such as building up a backlog of chapters, allowing others to edit and proofread before it's released or maybe they just want to write in peace on the go without readers talking shit about them.

Drafts are different. Drafts can't be used to fight a legal battle. The publication date and time must be there for it to be accepted as proof of copyright.

Ai-chan suppose you can also make an option to hide your stories after it's already published, effectively making it inaccessible to everyone other than the author.

I would love for this option!!! It would provide good documentation and give more protection to an authors copyright.

The thing I worry about though is the amount of data all these hidden chapters will impose onto Scribble Hub's servers.
