Here's my autistic opinion:
Societies are historically built on violence, conquest and power. Hence, they are made to benefit a narrow population of elites through the exploitation of the powerless. They rationalize the legitimacy to their rule with religion (mandate from god), that the plebeian are inherently sinful, chaotic and need a greater authority to shepherd them, that they are smarter than the uneducated masses, etc. But the simple truth is that their rule is enabled by power, just like how parents own all assets for their child's survival, granting authority over children. As you are born into an exploitative society, you have little choice whether to be part of it (unless the borders are open and you can learn new languages to dip somewhere else).
Technology produced some equalizing forces such as weaponry (firearm allows anyone to kill) and telecommunication (internet allows anyone to access ideas and knowledge) that disrupt old world orders. You could see major societal revolutions as an update of old orders that no longer matched the power distribution between exploiters and exploited.
We could illustrate this with french revolution overthrowing king or the US indepedence. But part of the populations still exist to be exploited by elites. For instance, restrictions on presidency candidates, large loans from private companies for campaigns, indirect US voting system allows to rob parts of citizens' power to decide their own government. Us plebeians aren't on the table because we're on the menu, to be devoured by companies and elites.
The goal of people in charge of money policies isn't to protect citizens wealth: it's to force them to work (minimizing unemployment rate, maximum productivity) even if they have to steal their wealth.
Another interesting example of exploiter/exploited is woman's place in society. Until not long ago, one of western society's implicit function was to guarantee that each man get a woman (enforcing monogamy and mariage). Men were willing to become cogs of the social machine in exchange for pussy and they weren't too happy when immigrant/minorities who weren't accepted in the social environment stepped on their right to pussy, like in this stupid example:
An individual course of actions to avoid being in the exploited side of society would be to learn new languages or straight out dip out to other countries whose social contract fits you. But no matter what happens, there will always be a slice of the population that gets fucked.
I think an equal society could only be created through the equalizing forces that propelled humanity: internet. Therefore, the ideal society is an utopia where the president is a cute vtuber.
